Obama wants to tap the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to bring down the price of oil.
Instead of increasing US production,he wants to take a stopgap solution . The reserve holds, I believe, 2 months worth of oil. What happens when it is exausted ? When it is what do we use in a real emergency?
The people in the gulf are dying because of his restrictions on drilling. Electric cars have not been flying off the shelf as the batteries die after about 100 miles before they need to be recharged.
If GWB had been President with these oil hikes, the DEMS (& rightfully so) would be on him like flies on ****. Now when a DEM is in the White House ,there is total silence.
"The people in the gulf are dying because of his restrictions on drilling."
Really?!
Honestly, gas is $7.50 a gallon here. The reason it's so highly taxed is to encourage public transportation or, you know, walking or biking... Americans need to learn to not be so oil dependent. That's the ONLY solution when you don't have the oil.
And Roxy, the people dying in the Gulf thing is pretty freaking out there, even for you.
What do you want Obama to do in an unprecedented Middle East political crisis?
Obama's restrictions on-drilling, mostly off-shore, had something to do with that little incident last summer on the gulf that probably killed more in the gulf than whatever generalization you were making.
Electric cars in the US, and by that I mean the Big 3, are only now being sold in compliance with the new CAFE standards of 35 mpg in the US (still not close to Europe or Japan's CAFE standards). Energy policy is still concentrating on finding new fuels whether renewable or domestic-based.
GM's whole strategy with the Volt is about reestablishing itself globally as much as in the US. But the battery's life lasts around 8 years, 100,000 miles. Yeah you need to recharge it every once in a while. That's apart of the deal with plug-ins.

Let's not lose focus of this:
"The people in the gulf are dying because of his restrictions on drilling."
Citations forthcoming?
Funny, I thought 11 people died in the Gulf because BP/Haliburton was too busy to make money to follow safety standards.

"Obama wants to tap the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to bring down the price of oil."
This is an example of his inexperience and shows that he is not capable of handling the position of POTUS. I would wish for proceedings to begin to remove him from office before he completely destroys the US, but Biden isn't any better.
"Americans need to learn to not be so oil dependent."
JerseyGirl, we would except the Democrats keep getting in the way. Obama wants to shut down the coal industry and there are no other viable sources of energy on the horizon. What do you propose we do?
Obama was accused of being too close to the coal industry of Illinois as a Senator/POTUS candidate when constantly advocating for the mythical 'clean' coal.

Ha. Hahahahahaha.

This used to be funny. Now I just find it embarrassing.

How many people in the gulf have died since noted humanitarian Mr Roxy had the foresight to post this information some 28 hours ago? Will we ever know?

Roxy, I'm curious: When you make such flat-out ridiculous mis-statements and people call you on them, how do you feel? Do you get embarrassed or do you shrug it off or do you purposefully post outrageous lies just to be provocative?

Maybe if just one of the posts had a grain of truth to them...
But they never do.

Maybe everybody should send Joe's questions to Roxy via PM? I mean, it's not like he was ever going to reply to the direct questions. IF he replied it would be something along the lines of:
Hey Joe, so much for freedom of speech. You do not like me and I assure you the feeling is mutual. I have my opinion and you do not agree with it. boo Hoo.
