No doubt Michael Savage will say he had her killed for the sympathy votes.
And somehow Roxy will say if it had been McCain's grandmother (a statistical impossibility of course) people would have been making fun of her death.
Just read that on cnn.com. How sad; on the eve of his probable election.
My thoughts are with the family.
Very sad indeed ... she meant so much to him.

AWWWWW man, talk about the most unfortunate timing ever!!
ONE more day... that's so sad
Thoughts and well wishes to Barack and the rest of the family <3
Ah man, what sad news!
That is so unbelievably sad. She'll be watching over him from heaven tomorrow.

I might listen to Rush Limbaugh tomorrow just to see how he spins the death of an octogenarian!
Very sad for Barack and his family!

I guess... in a sense it really sucks that probably one of the happiest moments in his entire life is going to coincide with a very sad one, but in another sense, at least maybe the *knocks on wood* being elected President part will help soften the blow a bit?
how terrible! and 1 day before he gets elected president too!
much love to his family... how difficult it will be for him to celebrate his victory tomorrow while dealing with this devastating loss.

Bill Bennett, of all drunken gambling addicts, had a sweet comment on CNN. He was talking about how important Obama's grandmother was to Barack and how much of an influence and inspiration she was on his life and career choice and how this might feel like the closing of that great chapter of his life as a new great chapter of it opens tomorrow.
That's usually the kind of insight we have after we begin moving out of a grieving process but still, it might be accurate for Obama.

No need to wait for Savage, Namo. The subhuman slime at FreeRepublic already are all over it.
Disgusting

Bill Bennet and "sweet" in the same sentence, that is a rarity!

This is my personal favorite -
"Karl Rove said the other day that he would know who is going to win by afternoon today. obama would have the same info....he had her snuffed out to eliminate her from spilling the beans if he wins. Perhaps obama knows he’s going to win? Not a good sign......or maybe nothing."

God they're SICK. They just CAN'T admit they were wrong, can they? They HAVE to keep believing that he went to Hawaii to change up his birth certificate or whatever, and now they're going on about how she this is a "perfectly timed terminal sedation so he can get the sympathy vote". DISGUSTING.
Besides, would there really BE a "sympathy vote" in the Presidential election ANYWAY? It's not like this is American Idol! I DON'T think McCain supporters are going to all of a sudden end up voting for him because the feel bad.
You're absolutely right snl89.
And my thoughts and prayers are with the Obama family.
I'm not going to click on that link, Calvin, and I'm not going to read what you posted about it, snl.
I almost didn't read Namo's post about Bill Bennett, but I'm glad I did.
She was an amazing woman who lived through a multiplicity of cultural shifts and emotional challenges. She lived to see her mixed-race grandson likely become the next president.
We all know that her final thoughts had to be of immense pride.
What other people say doesn't matter.

PJ, I just had my first and last journey into the evil of McCain supporters! Awful and Horrible!!!!!!!!! Wow, no limits to their vitrol!
I heard this JUST as I got back from voting for him today. Sad, sad news...my thoughts and prayers are with everyone who was close to such an inspiring woman.
I can't stop reading the forum that Calvin posted. It's a bit masochistic, I know, but they are unbelievably ignorant. It's fascinating.

Like most of us, Bill Bennett has many sides. His comment didn't surprise me in the least. He does find much to admire in Obama as a man, even if he doesn't agree with him politically.
I feel badly that Madelyn Dunham came so close to seeing her grandson's election to the presidency. More importantly, she got to see him last week and I hope she knew that she was loved.
