Obama up in first post-debate polls

Obama has gotten bumps in all the major tracking polls. These polls include both pre- and post-debate results. Over the next few days, the pre-debate results will roll off.

National Gallup Tracking Obama 50, McCain 42 Obama +8
National Rasmussen Tracking Obama 50, McCain 44 Obama +6
National Hotline/FD Tracking Obama 47, McCain 42 Obama +5

Below is a link to an article from www.fivethirtyeight.com that does a pretty good job of describing how solid Obama's lead is at the moment. The MSM is downplaying this at the moment because a tighter race is a better story. Of course, there is no room for complacency.

Pay no attention to polls- we need to work full time for the next month.

But Obama did exactly what he needed to do in the debates- he was respectful, he was agreeable and most of all he looked like he could be president.
