We're past 400! What post were we on when we started today at 1:30? 85 or 90 or something? Man oh man, we're impressive!

I was there with em!
Em, wrq, and I....
I'm quite jealous!
But also quite happy for you!
How long were you backstage for? Give me some details! lol
So yeah...the message on the webcam was supposed to have BWW names, not our real names but Greg started typing our names so we weren't going to stop him...the message was supposed to read...Hi BWW from wickedrentq, thenadier, luvtheemcee and Greg.
The last line of the poster for Norbert came directly from Son Of Great Big Stuff, it's no friggin doubt about it. Glad no one mentioned the umm missing S in congratulations, no room. Glad someone said it was cute, Norbie was out so I couldn't directly give it to him so Greg said he'd put it on the cam after.
I also gave him the pencil, in reference to Andre wanting to distract Lawrence by getting him one of those pencils at carnivals...so I got one like that. To whoever wanted one(sorry, forgot who it was), I actually thought I would have a difficult time finding one, but I went to information at my mall and she suggested Claire's or the Icing, went into Claire's and found it. I haven't been to that store since I was 13, wouldn't have thought of it.
Jbarafan, if you still have those images(of the pencil and poster, etc.) can you e-mail them to me? We were in the city the whole day and missed everything from the cam.
Ehh...might as well just post the whole story together. It's not like I'm sleeping anytime soon...we waited a bit on the stage for Greg to meet us, god it's gorgeous, it was just...ahh. He gave us the whole tour, walked through the whole stage, saw wings, balconies, stairs, everything on the stage itself, props, how some of the things that need to go on the turntable easily move, etc. Funny moment, the little walls in the wings are actually composed of a bunch of beads, and he told us people aren't supposed to touch them because they'll come apart...course we kinda touched it, or at least I did, while we were waiting. Oops. Nothing broke, I swear.
Then we went downstairs to the technical stuff. There's stairs from stage right downstairs that lead up to stage left, that's how the actors move across the stage if they have to without disturbing anything happening on stage. We saw the control panel, how the screens all have cues for everything, etc especialy moving the stage when necessary on the turntable. We saw everyone's wigs, that was pretty cool, even Sherie has a wig, I didn't know that. We saw some of the mikes and talked to one of the sound guys for a bit, who explained about the location the actors wear the mikes, and how they realized what's best for the sound, and he also mentioned he worked originally on Rent with the diff. way they use wear those mikes...someone there was esp. thrilled seeing as she loves someone in the original OBC...bet none of you know who that would be...
Then...best part for me the pit geek...I walked into the pit!! I just kinda stood near the front for a minute, just taking it all in, god the look on my face. I wish I got to sit in the chair, I could have sat there at least an hour and a half. Wow, it's just....amazing. Having the stage above you and seeing the speakers and monitors and just such a professional version of what I've done in High School...it was just...amazing. Really pretty too.
Then we went up to Greg's dressing room, played with the webcam, gave him the awards, pencil and Norbert's sign I made, stayed there for a couple of min...saw some of the costumes, and of course the infamous sink...which we all agreed we would just stay away from..it is pretty small and awesome. And then he had to meet people so we walked out.
Was going to post more details but it's long enough without the details, so I may add those or post more about them later, maybe between the 3 of us we can remember a good amount.
So yeah, awesome, awesome day not even including 2 shows. Honestly, when Greg invited us backstage, we really had no idea what we were gonna see, we were just so excited, but this was just so awesome. Maybe I should stop saying awesome so much..
Oh, and when we said hello and good bye, both times he hugged and kissed me on the cheek.
Seriously, if Greg did not win nicest in person award, I was going to throw a fit...thankfully that didn't happen.
That is so beyond...dare I say it?...awesome! Thanks for typing all that out. I'm still a little jealous, but can't help but smile for you guys. Very, very cool.
Aww...don't be too jealous. I mean...BSo dragged me to Brooklyn for our evening show...how jealous can you really be? For the record we both had pretty big headaches after...

New slide show's up! You'll find the link on the cam page. The award-viewing images are on there, and there's one of all of you, wicked, Then, Em ... but I chose one where your faces aren't seen since I wasn't sure about posting the others until I get the okay from you all. Since Greg's cam images display through a mirror, I posted the images with the awards (and Norbert's Congratulation sign) first cam view, each followed by the "real" view. I'm too lazy to go through each time and "un-mirror" each image, so most I leave as is. Took me 'til 1 AM my time (2 NYC time) to get everything done and uploaded. :)
Is anybody *still* up? I should be in bed ... gonna be no good for church tomorrow! Oh well, they have coffee there, I may need some. lol
So glad you all had such a wonderful time! You saw more backstage than I did! That is awesome! (Hey, I think "awesome" is a good word here!) Al and I got to hang out in the dressing room while Greg got ready for the party ... and he took us onto the stage just before we all (Greg, Julie, Al and I) left to go to the Copa. I agree, it was awesome, just what we got to see at the theatre! Sounds like quite a day for all of you. Greg is hands down, the best, isn't he?
lol! Well, I haven't seen Brooklyn. But from what I've heard...I'm glad I missed out.
Ooh, and new temporary avatar, in honor of one of my favorite people ever. It must take a fantastic person to cause me to even bump my Gerry off temporarily.
I'm definitely awake - and checking out the slideshow now!
