Simply high off life my friend. . We GregCam captains need to entertain ourselves and keep this thread alive!
.
this one's for Greg!
haha go read the couple of hundred pages you missed, this is nothing new, we've been off our rockers for quite awhile, besides the greg thread dies in between greg cams otherwise...I suppose some may say that would be for the best...but...uh... erm...got to go...
Ahh yes, we've actually calmed down, we used to go GIF crazy for like pages and pages. lol. We've gone off the deep end. ph [ps... I LOVE
Just for the sake of adding my own Gif. kitty to the mix.
omg, haha, you guys are too much.
anyways, that's cool that mostly everybody knew what they wanted to study. i've heard the saying, "it doesn't matter what you do in life, as long as you're happy." and well, honestly, performing is what makes me the happiest. hopefully i can manage a double major someday! haha
and, as for random pictures:
i JUST found this picture too. it's of norb when he was in Cabaret. omg. he is so...built! look at those abs! (but i still LOOOVVE his Ruprecht pot belly!) haha, but i can never, in my whole life, imagine him in that show. but, ah well, people are full of surprises, no? :)

Please girls - it's the Washington MONUMENT - not Memorial! You know how some people on BWW get their knickers in a knot when someone calls an OCR a 'soundtrack'? Well, I work with the tourists in Washington, DC and this is the little item that gets my goat. Monuments and memorials are two different things and this is a MONUMENT.
lol, if you want more pics of NORB IN CABARET, check out my fan photos. I've had the lost of them up there for about a month now. .
That beautiful man right there is actually my biggest obsession. I have a 3 by 5 foot poster of him on my wall and 3 regular sized posters that are hanging up and I still need to hang another regular sized poster and a door poster of him. Not to mention the cough cough 50 pictures I have taped to my wall of him. lol.

Mamie, you go, girl! re. Monuments / Memorials ... I'm the same way when someone uses "y'all" to refer to one person. One person is not a "y'all" ... y'all is plural (contraction for "you all").
With "monument" and "memorial" though ... what exactly is the distinction? I know the name of that national landmark is the Washington Monument, but is there a reason it's not also "a memorial"? Dictionary.com gives this as the noun def. of "memorial":
:::Something, such as a monument or holiday, intended to celebrate or honor the memory of a person or an event.:::
Dictionary.com gives the following (first) as the noun def. of "monument":
:::A structure, such as a building or sculpture, erected as a memorial.:::
I figure, dictionary definitions aside, there must be some ... perhaps subtle ... difference between the two.
Liz, I love
too! :) btw, check out my fan photos, lol ... you can change
the link to that grapic to the fan photos one instead of hot linking to that gravewhiteway site (even though they're guilty of hot linking themselves). I made that logo, lol, read the long-a$$ description in fan photos. :) Greg was never crazy about that logo; he likes the current one much better, and I have to say, I agree with him!
Thinking of scanning and uploading my high school grad. pic to fan photos. Anybody want to see it? LOL From the 70s!! egad!
(I just said 'egad,' y'all!)
Barb xo
Woo I want to see it Barb!! lol, and will do. Was that the old Greg Jbara site before gregoryjbara.com was made? Because well now it's all this is not Greg's official site, I was getting so confused at first! lol. Help me.. But I do love the other one more. .
"4. In the fairly exhausting rambunctiousness of the musical version of
'Dirty Rotten Scoundrels,' there was something mesmerizing about the
wonderfully understated, droll performance of Gregory Jbara as a sour Frenchman."
- Howard Kissel, "Kissel's Top Ten - What I'll remember from Broadway season"
New York Daily News, June 6, 2005
I love that quote, Barb. Great one to pick to be on his main page!
Hi Barb -
Washington DC is packed full of monuments and memorials. The difference is that you can go to the Lincoln Memorial and find Mr. Lincoln in there. You can go to the Jefferson Memorial and find Mr. Jefferson in there. But you go to the Washington Monument and you won't find the General in there at all. A representation - usually a statue - of the individual will appear in a memorial but won't appear in a monument. There was some talk about the National Park folks putting a statue of the General in the Washington Monument when they did the big renovation there. I don't know if they did or not - but they aren't going to go changing the name this late in the game!
(If you put your high school pic up, I'll do mine. It's older than yours!)

Liz, that site was never Greg's official site! They just had a page there on him when he did a play, show, whatever the h*ll it was! lol I had posted the news on Greg's site at the time, and I guess their webmaster was lazy and just basically copied the news page on Greg's site. lol Where you're seeing that image with the white background ... they used to hotlink to a headshot of Greg's ... not sure why they didn't just upload it to their own server. That image you're seeing is the default image we have that will show up on any site that's hotlinking to images at Greg's site. And if they're hot linking and saying they're his official site, then it'll set folks straight. Or confuse them. Whatever.
The "history" of Greg's official site is ... I created a site on an old AOL account years ago; that started out unofficial, then Greg made the decision he liked it well enough to be his official site. Then we got the domain name. So his official site has only been at two different URLs in its entire history. Before that, there were personal web sites here and there that might have a page or two on Greg, but I created the first full site just for him.
I dig the Kissel quote too! He's a good critic, tends to like Greg's performances, so he must be a genius! :)
Will dig up the old high school grad pic to scan and upload. Hope it doesn't scare people. LOL
Barb xo
I got mine up. Now you're obligated!
Barb- I got very confused reading that, lol, but I'll just smile and nod. ::smiles and nods:: lol. Off to look at Mamie's pic!
Great picture Mamie! How on earth did you meet Harrison Ford. Oh, and by the way, you AREN'T old! And if you still think you are, you certainly don't look it! Silly goose!

Love the photo, Mamie! Okay, you may not believe this, but I used to be (still am) envious of people with freckles. When I was young, I'd take my mom's brown eye pencil and dot my face with freckles. lol Oh! Thanks for the further explanation re. monuments/memorials .. that makes sense!
My grad pic's uploaded. LOL I almost die laughing looking at that thing. OMG! LOL I feel like, who the hell is that person? ha ha
Maybe BSo will make it one of his avatars. ha ha ha ha ha ....
Barb xo
can't type straight today, lol

Barb - Your pic is beautiful! (I did notice that you didn't have the kahunas to include the year.....)
Envying freckles....oy! I'm so Irish I practically spit green. Red hair (then) and freckles all over. I used to try to bleach them out with Clorox!
Envious of freckles? rotflmfao. Barb, that cracked me up, lol. Thanks for that. Now, time to check out your yearbook photo!
Aw I missed so much...love both your pics! They're groovy!
...See monument and memorial...this is just like when I learned the difference between bedspreads and comforters...I blame my parents for my ignorance!!
Chrrymn- I am amazed and astonished and amazed at your rabbit with a pancake on its head gif finding ability...
And here's my question for Barb, how did you first become a fan of Greg?

bleaching out your freckles! Freckles are awesome! And so is being Irish. I'm part Irish somewhere in my American muttishness, lol.
Irish and Scottish and/or Scotch-Irish, I don't know!!
The year on my grad. pic ... guess I can tell YOU, lol ... it's 1975.
Uploaded a few more old family pics from when the kids were really small. Funny how we had tons of pics of our first child, not as many of our second, and with the third, even fewer. I'm really glad we took so many pics of our eldest though ...
Barb xo
PS I'm done uploading pics for now. LOL Added a college-era one of me looking, I think, kinda like a young Marc Shaiman's twin sister; one from about 10th grade; and one of me with the dog from the soap Another World. What a hoot!

hi there, gav, how's it goin'?
Good morning Gav...the sun is shining and its a kajillion degrees outside!
Hey everybody. Morning. Well, Afternoon actually. After looking at all of your fan photos (Which are great) it makes me feel like a really bad BWW member. lol. Sure, I post -granted it's only on this thread- but I have no fan photos, no avatar, and no signature. I think it's about time for a change.
Mamie. You have no idea how jealous I am of you right now. Alan Cumming! Gah, you are so lucky. I would give anything to in the world just to be in the same room as him. I love this picture, absolutely adorable.
This is the only other picture of Norbert from Cabaret I could find, which is a shame. He looks amazing as the Emcee...But not as amazing as Alan.
