hey I'm the #1 pit geek here who have been requesting pit ppl on the cam since day one...I'm thrilled to have more pit love, as long as I'm president of the pit geek club.
Goo, I can't believe you don't think playing in pit is fun! It's one of my absolutely favorite things to do in the whole world, especially during a show!
In terms of watching/missing cues...yeah that's a no-no, I've learned. Throughout high school, my director learned to purposely p;ut me on the side b/c I made sure to not miss cues, but I couldn't help but watch, and it looks really bad if you're watching completely turned around. Now in my 6th pit, 2nd time for WSS, I'm not on the side, so I don't watch. It's hard sometimes, never getting to see some of the great dancing, or how funny Krupke is, but it's part of the job. The sacrifice you make to be apart of something so amazing! Because what makes what you're seeing great is what I'm contributing, so me watching takes away the greatness, and then I'm not watching greatness, so it's not worth it. But god...pit.
Ali, will check your pics in a bit. Of course one of the first times I talked to Greg I had to tell him to tell pit how amazing they are, and he said he started out in instruments before acting and started on the trumpet. Heh.
