haha it wasn't a bad attempt.
i'm 18. so i don't wanna lie to her, but i kinda wanna be like "i'm gonna meet a friend in the city from Connecticut...so i won't be alone" and maybe that would work? lol i just wanno do something..and i'll be at college already, so i won't want to go back to the environment of not being able to do anything. ya know?
any other ideas? lol
My sister's on the radio right now...if anyone lives near Phili, I have no idea what radio station it is, so this doesn't help at all. I found a new fantastic song that I haven't stopped listening to since 9:00 this morning. "I Won't Say I'm In Love" from Hercules...rather fantastic. Anway. What is this survivor game people were talking about?
norb this is tough cause I am also 18 and my parents won't let me go alone, not even to meet up with someone. ummm, how old are your cousins?
My parents have let me go to the city by myself since I was 17, and I'm really appreciating that right about now...
As far as advice I really don't know, I'm past my pleading adults stage praise the lord, As an 18 year old those are not restrictions I would have tolerated...Good luck though!

yeah..
my parents are ok with it
but its my aunt that isn't ok with it
i was just in the city last weekend to see the show..and half the time i was alone. and my parents trust me. so its all good. but its my aunt. my cousin is 17...so its like, they don't trust us or something. i actually may not care anymore lol since the show is so far away, we can get front row seats..and really i would just go to do the lottery for drs and wicked and litp...so if i get front row seats, i won't care anymore lol
i'm so excited!
For Light in the Piazza, don't bother with the lottery, you can buy tickets ahdead of time for 20 bucks a piece and you choose your seats...just remember to bring a student ID when you pick them up...Fantastic tix program!

YES! Use student tix. I did when I saw it and the seats were AMAZING. And I laughed at the fact that everyone around me payed like $90. Mwahahaha.
Haha amen to that...it was also quite amusing that 90 dollars was not only the average ticket price...but seemed to be the average age...
That is quite true. The 90 year old guy next to me kept crying. More than I did. It was scary.
My guy was asleep...
God I'm in a giffy mood, and yes thats an adective now, and a superb one at that!
Can't... stop.... watching... gif...

Do I fit in yet?
I'm quite depressed I wasn't here for Survivor last night. I did not receive Catherine's telapathic messages. I get to go to the city by myself at age 16. I just got my more cowbell shirt. And now..for the less important details of my life...
STARE AT ME:
You do not fit in LESA until you find a monky GIF!
i was allowed to go into the city with a friend to see DRS (a second time for me). But my parenst got scared when I said I wanted to go in to meet Traci. (as if Traci could hurt me.) so, whatever. Maybe it's the mood that they are in at the time.
edit: liz, love your STARE AT ME picture.

hahaha the monkey gif is great. loves it!
hmm...well, ali, your cousin actually seems the right age to go to the city alone.
anyways, just tell them. usually, my hardest obstacle are my parents. the aunts and uncles are usually more leniant with me, b/c, u know, i'm not their child, lol.
lovin the gif's!
Dre- You and Traci had just met for the first time when you went into the city?
Mayhaps your parents would be willing to have a discussion with your aunt and uncle about their trust in your competence...
Heh, you think Piazza's audiences were old? Try playhouses...Ragtime at Papermill and esp. Finian's Rainbow at Westport...the average age must have been 90, almost everyone there was in walkers, coughing, I heard some snoring...ulgh. At some points I was even wishing for an audience full of little kids, I don't know which is worse.
Oh and Dre, I know what you mean about parents being worried about meeting BWWers. The first BWWer I met was Emcee, but I think my mom was okay with that, I was going down to the rent set, and she was my facebook friend, so my mom saw her pic and profile and from what I know was okay. But other times my mom knew I was going down to meet ppl, she never said anything, but my sisters told me she would call them panicking and was really really worried. I was like Ma, let's pretend I don't know well enough that they're cool, nice peopole. Do you think I'm meeting them in abandoned alleys? Oh well. Fortunately now I've met a bunch, and am close friends with quite a few, so I think my mom's fine now.
I've yet to meet a BWWer.

Me too, Liz. Hopefully, when Urinetown or Lend Me a Tenor starts up, I can get some advertising for them both.
I'm still pushing for a GFU gathering..
