Oh good the posts that were missing from the last week are back (although the ones from a few months ago are still MIA). I was about to start another thread if the didn't come back.
Jen-Jen welcome to the thread!
Andrea, AWESOME news! So exciting! And LOL about Daniel.
Jen-Jen, welcome to the thread! Very good to hear from you.
Glad that the thread is almost back to normal.
I joined Jersey Boys World yesterday night. This online social networking thing is so addictive. Glad to see some of you guys over there! :)
Thanks for all the love girls I will try and get a picture of the ring up soon. I am going to try to do standing room for JLY's last performance...I am debating on what time to get on line though...
Just wanted to put my two cents in about John Lloyd Young and how he's turned Broadway upside down with his talent..... I've never watched the OBC before that day (I live in CA). Only the 1st Tour and Chicago Cast of Jersey Boys. It started with meeting JLY, Bobby, Daniel, Christian, the entire OBC, Brickman & Elice and the Original Four Seasons at the Marriott Marquis on October 21st for the BC/EFA benefit by the Jersey Boys fans.
He's done so much for my son's drama program by way of donations to help with fundraising, he's always been quick to reply to letters I've sent him and he just loves his fans and the support we've given him these past two years. At the autograph table that evening, he recognized me from past letters and correspondence and we chatted briefly about stuff and life, then he posed with Frankie Valli for a photo, which I'll definitely remember for life! While all of the other guests left early (the August Wilson was dark the next day), John was the last cast member to leave at 9:30 PM. Photos, auctions for ltd. edition Jersey Boys memorabilia, intimate face to face meetings with the cast that we can't experience at stage door and just a Jersey Boys fan dream come true that night in NYC.....
It will definitely be sad seeing him leave Jersey Boys, but am sure his next projects will be just as successful.
MikeMagbaleta aww nice story! He rocks!
This bites with this strike! My sister and her friends were suppossed to see JB tomorrow. They have seen it before, but still! They got the tickets last year!
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for them.
MikeMagbaleta, what a great story! John's dedication to the show and especially to his fans never ceases to amaze. He definitely rocks!
I need to watch the ATW interview still. I'm sure it's fantastic!

Mike- That is an amazing story about John. Thank you for sharing it.
I hope everyone is well this weekend. I've been in Washington DC this weekend visiting my brother who has to do some more training at Ft. Meade. The whole family is here incuding my sister and her family.
So the strike did happen after all. I hope that it is resolved soon.
Hopefully this strike gets settled soon....here's hoping John hasn't already performed his last. I have tickets for November 24th at 8PM. I was hoping John might extend since Michael is taking over that Tuesday....that is IF there is a show on the 24th!
Thanks to all of the fans that knew John Lloyd Young even when he was an usher on Broadway! I'm sure that there have been lifelong fans that followed his career before Jersey Boys and witnessed his love of theatre.
Meeting him in person after corresponding with him so much via snailmail was actually a lot of fun because besides writing about my son's theatre activities, we wrote about life and the many health related charities that he and the Jersey Boys support. He recognized me by name (of course I had a nametag on) but the feeling was priceless when that occurred, especially when he asked how my son's play preparation was going, and I was chatting casually with a Grammy & Tony Award Winning Star. He is probably the quickest and most considerate Broadway star to answer his fans via snailmail considering how busy he is!
I hope that the strike ends soon..... It's sad that the strike had to occur a few short weeks before John leaves the company. Due to the work stoppage, the fans are denied their chance to see their favorite principal lead in action, and I know someone from San Francisco that arrived in NYC this weekend just to be turned away from the August Wilson because it was dark.

Hey all. Its been a while since anyone has posted. Hope everyone is doing well.
John wrote a really nice blog yesterday. Very nice Go read it if you haven't yet!!
It's ashame he can't perform his last performance with the strike and all. I really wanted to see him and the show this past Sunday.
I know we all wish him the best of luck in the nearer future
Even though John says he prefers the way it's turned out--no real last performance--I have to confess, I'm still pretty sad. Wish I could be there, with some other fans, to say goodbye to him in person tomorrow. Alas, I will be there in spirit.
His latest blog entry is typical JLY: classy and heartfelt.

I saw him in May in JERSEY and he was so good....so amazing...very, very passionate in his singing.. Amazing stage presence. Sad that he can't have his official final.

Playbil.com put up a nice interviwe with John today here' the link:

Wonderful article! Thanks for the link, Erin. :)
Aside from my JB-related sadness, I was excited to read the artists that John will cover at his concert. I'm a big fan of Roy Orbison, for example, so I'd love to hear what JLY could do with an Orbison song like Only the Lonely, or I Drove All Night, Crying, or my favorite song of his, Mystery Girl (though that's an 80s song).
Excuse my rambling. I hope John is having a wonderful day. I also hope his castmates threw him a party or something.

Hey all!
I hope everyone is doing well. In a few weeks I have my finals which won't be fun.
I'm so happy that they strike is all over.
Wow! I just realized how long it has been since I posted on here. I hope everybody has been doing good and is trying to start and enjoy the holiday season!
John's Christmas/holiday cards are going out. I received one today, and I'm sure many others of us will get one too! It's a series of letters, starting with JLY...and ending with JOY.
Simple, effective, and elegant. I have to say, I love his creative marketing strategies. He does an excellent job of maintaining the same look and feel to his correspondence and tweaking it to fit an occasion.
I'm so dying to see the new matinee Frankie. I wish Travis had gotten it but if anyone sees it with Cory Grant let us know how he is.
The JB Blog forum has reviews of JLY's performance in San Diego (which he mentions in his latest blog entry). Thanks, Erin, for the heads up about it!
He sang Roy Orbison's Crying and a Sam Cooke medley?! *dies* I love those old songs, and I can only imagine how fantabulous JLY sounded.

Sounds like everyone who was there had a great time. I wonder if those are the songs John will be singing at his concert in February.
Well I have very good news. My brother proposed to his girlfriend of 6 years this weekend in front of the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center and she said yes.
