My favorite scene is the knocking on the doors one, especially at the third door.
Number one:
"No, no - the Four Seasons is a colored group!"
"NO NO that's us! *sings* I hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii love you sooooooooo."
Every time I've seen that, JLY has hit that perfectly (and Michael did it perfect when I saw him as Frankie).
And plus, "Not bad - come back when you're black!" is one of the best lines.
Favorite quote:
"We weren't a social movement like the Beatles. Our fans didn't put flowers in their hair and try to levitate the Pentagon - maybe they should have. Our people were the guys that shipped overseas, and their sweethearts. They were the factory workers, the truck drivers, the kids pumping gas, flipping burgers, the pretty girl with circles under her eyes behind the counter at the diner. They're the ones who really got us - who pushed us over the top."
And the sad part is I did that almost all from memory.

I love how you've memorized the lines of the show elphie! I swear, when I'm at Phantom I recite the entire show. The people next to me glance at the strange asian girl mouthing lines occasionally *chuckles*
"Our fans didn't put flowers in their hair and try to levitate the Pentagon" I love that line!

Thanks for the welcome! Oh, and Alejandra - I probably won't get to see JLY since the next time I'll probably be able to go to NYC is next summer.I've seen both Michael Longoria and Dominic Nolfi. Michael completely blew me away. Amazing. Actually, I saw him the same day as smashingasian. Smashing, you were near the front of the student rush line, right? I was last in line. I got an odd-numbered seat front row [which was GREAT]. I remember seeing you in your green sparkly top.
It was my first time and I fell in love with the show. I was a little disappointed JLY wasn't there because I really wanted to see him and I did SRO the day after he came back from his break thinking he'd be in, but once I saw Michael [he has great energy, and he can really MOVE!] I was okay. Meeting them all at the stagedoor was great, too. They're all so nice!
I want to go to Daniel's show so bad! I know he's goanna be amazing. It would be great if somebody could record it!
Oh, and my favorite scene is Bob's first time, when they sing "Oh, What A Night". Daniel is adorable. My favorite line is... oh, there are so many good ones!... probably "I'm not drawn to the old neighborhood, my life never revolved around the old neighborhood, I don't give a f*ck about the old neighborhood."

MY GREEN SPARKLY TOP! Ahhh I feel special that you recognized me kaibranch! How did you know it was me? You sat next to the mother and son who were first in line right? That show was just awesome! Michael was fabulous =] Did you just buy one ticket or two? I remember the guy turning people away after you arrived haha It was also raining like crazy! The little boy was nie enough to hold my spot while I ran across the street to go to the bathroom *laughs*

I remember after that I went on bww.com and you posted something about how you did SRO that day. Then I remembered you. Yeah, I sat next to the mother and son. The mother was nice. Do you know who sat next to them? Wendy Mallick from "Just Shoot Me". It was cool seeing her. I bought two tickets, my mother sat behind me. I felt so lucky to have come in time! If I had come only 10 minutes late, I wouldn't have gotten tickets. I remember the rain! I was so smart that day that I decided to wear a skirt and a short-sleeved top [thinking it'd be hot]. I was freeeezing. Ugh. I didn't even bring a jacket! But the show was worth it. Haha, I was wondering what I'd do if I had to go to the bathroom!

I'd love a sequel to this thread, I think we can all work hard enough for there to be a part two.
I've added both sites, Kathryn, thanks for accepting.
Out of the three pictures I like the last one the best. Youn can't see their faces up close, but they are performing so I love it.

I got to the theatre at 7:00 am kaibranch and I was 2nd in line. I'm glad you loved the show! Hopefully you'll come to visit soon in the future =]
Kathryn, those new myspace pages are great. I really could have used the music myspace page last week b/c I was out of town on vacation and couldn't listen to JB...except for some video clips on youtube.
Does Dominic cover for both John and Christian when either one is out?
The Oh What a Night scene is so funny; it also changed the way I thought about that song. Before, I liked the song and all but must not have paid much attention to the lyrics, LOL.
I saw a picture of John with Norbert Leo Butz once but now can't seem to find it....

That could possibly be the greatest picture ever (I do say that a lot, but this could be it!)
I would love to see John and Norbert together

BrunetteBombshell- Yay, the friend request finally worked!
I found this one with NLB and JLY with Rachel York through popular_elphie's fantastic (and very addictive!!) Big Men in Town site. :) Are there any more?
And John updated his blog with last Thursday's date, saying that he was back...yay! He also posted a bigger version of a broadway.com photo from Tony night--one of the great ones of Daniel Reichard.

Ok, so I have a couple of silly questions:
-What time exactly do rush tickets go on sale for a Wednesday matinee (2:00 p.m.)? On Talkin' Broadway it says it's between 11am-noon, so it that around 11:30 or so usually?
-Also, the show length is listed as 2 hours, 30 minutes with one 15 minute intermission. So does that mean that it's 2 hrs. 45 mins. altogether, or is the intermission supposed to be included with the 2 and a half hours?
Ha, I feel sort of stupid cause the questions are so simple-sounding, but yeah..just curious. I really hope I can finally see the show soon!

Rachel2789 - Do you plan on doing rush? Because I'm doing it on Sept 23 for the 2:00 PM show and I would love see it with someone.

We'll keep it on the first page. It has fallen off a couple of times, but we'll do better.

Alejandra, Dominic covers for all the boys except for Nick. That must be hard! If I had to do anything like that, I'd go on stage and forget who I was playing that night.
JLY has such a gorgeous smile! I love every photo of him.
Rachel, for a Wednesday matinee, the tickets are sold at 11 am. I'm not sure about your second question. Good luck doing rush!

Correct Rachel =] The show ends around 4:30 PM on a matinee.
As for buying the tickets... expect getting there pretty early. A lot of people are going back to college so maybe you won't have to make the pilgrimage to the theatre in the wee hours of the morning.
Guess what guys!!! I just got a job!!! I am going to be making $100 a month so maybe next year I will gte to see jersey boys, I think $ 100 a month is good for only working 1 day out of every week.
You know it would be so cool if a group of us went ans saw it together, I would love that.
Also i just had a new idea, let see if we can make this part 2 before Oct!!!! what do you think?
ok this is off topic but what the hey, Dominic is so HOT!!!
ok yeah well dont mind me it is 6am and I still have not gone to bed so i am a little weird right now.

kaibranch, I know what you mean! I think it'd be especially hard because you'd have to know the show so well, but you also don't have to perform it every night. I'd forget everything. Jersey Boys moves so fast in between scenes, too. And imagine a situation like the one recently, when John's illness caused him to leave the show early, and Michael Longoria ended up playing Joe Pesci and Frankie Valli in the same performance. Wow.
JLY has such a gorgeous smile! I love every photo of him.
Ditto. :)
Congrats on the new job, Kathryn!!! Hope you get to see the show; you're such a supportive fan that it seems unfair somehow that you haven't!
How many posts do we need exactly for a JLY love thread part 2?
