awww, i love that show! i saw it 3 weeks ago during my first visit to NYC. Norbert was hilarious! i couldn't stop laughing. he's so awesome. hope you enjoy it!!

DRS' numbers for the week (according to Playbill.com) are way up this week, to 94%. Let's hope better weather and positive word of mouth keep this show going for a long time.

Isn't that exciting?! I'm so happy that attendance is up! And the average ticket price is high as well. Spam's attendance was in the 80's, cool! Overall attendance was high this past week, very good news!

Ruprecht is precious! I love that little dance he does! It would bring down the house(Radio City) if they did "All About Ruprecht" on the Tonys but I don't know if CBS could handle "fresh shaved testicles on Christmas Day", and I don't want them to cut lines. I don't like "Dirty Rotten Number" for the Tonys cuz John sings too much and it's not funny. They might do "Great Big Stuff" but I'm not sure.

Hehe, I have to make a brief appearance here to say that I would looove it if they did "All About Ruprecht" at the Tonys. Just cause I think America should witness the look of pride on Ruprecht's face when he shows off his jar of farts.

Too bad they don't do medleys on the Tonys anymore. I hope they opt against "Dirty Rotten Number" -- I don't think John Lithgow's singing is a great selling point.

Aside from DRS, I saw him twice in RENT. I can tell you about his performance in that if you like!

oooh, I wanna hear more about seeing Norbert in Rent live. :) Did you see him as Roger both times? I think it's cool that Norbert loved playing Mark (because Mark is cool). LOL.

Norbert replaced Adam after Adam left (when was that, emcee?).
Norbert left in December 1998 but then came back briefly in...2000?. Is that right?

Adam left in the summer of 1998...I think...it was abrupt

Norbs was Roger I think when my friends saw RENT I'm jealous that one of my best friends might have seen him

another thing...remember last years tonys when Johnny and Rod made an appearance with Hugh? I was thinking that Ruprecht should make an appearance in a skit with Hugh...anyone going to the Imperial SD anytime soon? Suggestion for Norbs..the tonys are in 3 months

Yep, I saw him as Roger both times. Adam left November 2, 1997 (I remember that because it's my half-birthday...) and I first saw Norbert a few weeks after that, on Wilson Heredia's last performance.

I went to NY a week before DRS' Opening Night, and I totally sat front row, dead center. *sigh*

I think "Dirty Rotten Number" is excellent. John's voice may not be the most amazing sound you've ever heard, but it is still very good. He definitely holds up his own. And also, that night, Norbert flashed the front row his whitie tighties (under his boxers) in Act II. (Take that, suckas! Hahaha!)

As for Rent, I bought a cast signed photo of RENT a while ago ('No Day But Today' pose). And I realized a couple of months ago that it is, indeed, Norbert as Roger in the picture. Ha, never noticed that.

I've seen Norbert in Rent, L5y, & Wicked...and I have no idea when I'll get up to see DRS. However, I also saw him in the National Tour of Cabaret. I couldn't believe how wonderful he was. I can't wait to see him in DRS....anyone see him in Thou Shalt Not? I never got a chance to see that one, but I guess I was lucky to find the cast album when I did.

There's nothing wrong with "dirty rotten number" but they need their Tony performance to either be very funny or have strong vocals and except for Norbert's part of the song, it has neither. Norbert can sing his ass off, but John sings most of the song and that's not good. DRS needs to put flash or funny on that stage, so that means GBS or Ruprecht.

OMG, I just pictured Ruprecht on stage at the Tonys! It would be a million times funnier at the Tonys cuz it's so wild! Can you imagine the reaction from the crowd when Norbert comes out as Ruprecht? I can see it!!!
