I've become a big Norbert fan since Last 5 Years and I'm SO glad that he won last night! We're seeing DRS the week of July 4th...and after seeing the Spelling Bee bit last night, I want to catch that, too!
Broadway.com has a red carpet video of Norbs and Michelle--and for a fleeting second, I thought she looked alot like a thinner version of Julianne Moore, whom I think is stunning.
OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG
LOVE HIM LOVE HIM LOVE HIM LOVE HIM!!!!!!!!!!! SOOOOOOO GLAD HE WON THAT I CRIED!!!!!! IS THAT WEIRD?!
SOMEBODY TOLD ME THAT I NEED TO GET SOME OF MY OWN GOALS...LMAO.. I JUST LOVE HIM WAYYYYY TOO MUCH!!!!

LOL my favorite part of Norbert's speech was calling his father Norbert "the culprit" and thanking the DRS cast, especially Sherie and John. I was pretty ticked that the other speeches ran long so that when they got to Norbert, they cut him off.
I was rooting for Matt Morrison and Kelli O' Hara, as well, so I was disappointed that they lost, but not surprised.
So far my favorite picture of the night: a very nice one with Norbert (and Michelle) with Idina and Taye.
Yay for Norbert!

WOO HOO!
Hello Everyone!
I had a few minutes and found an inernet capable computer for once.
I'm so very, very... happy that Norbert won!
When I get back to NYC first on my list is a DRS visit to cheer him on.
Hello to all the Newbies, way to spread the Norbert love!
Alejandra, Wendy everyone else, hope to be back on again soon!
I've loved the recaps my tape wont come for another couple days so I'm in withdrawal still.
SP-You are going to LOVE it...there were definitely some traces of Freddy in Norb's acceptance speech ...where he looked forlorn and said "I want to cry"...reminds me of when Freddy is telling Christine she is so wonderful..
AND someone on the tread (Broadwayboobs) is going tomorrow nite, so we will have a fresh post-Tony update (which I know SP you would have done for us all had you been able to!)
And Norbs is fibbing when he says he is not funny (Drama Desks)--he's a natural comedian and that speech proved it!!

That picture of Norb, Idina and Taye is so cute.
From broadway.com:
Norbert Leo Butz, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
Butz is contracted to stay with Dirty Rotten Scoundrels through February 2006. What he'll do after that is anyone's guess.

I kept having to edit my messages, but the IFISA pics were my favorites. A whole bunch of Norbert with Michelle, Sherie, Idina and Taye, etc. :)
And I also said, in my edited posts--that I wasn't sure at all, but that I'd read somewhere that Michelle and Taye went to the same school (?)

I know Taye grew up in Buffalo and Michelle went to college in Pittsburgh--so maybe they're talking about college? Alejandra, how DO you find these pics??

No better way to get to page 60 than with pictures!

Hey Smart Penguin and all--I hope this doesn't ruin it for you, but here is Norbert's acceptance speech (thank you, Broadway.com):
>"I feel like crying, because when I heard my name, I just got the joke. I just got it. I first and foremost want to thank God because there's no way that somebody with my name from South St. Louis, Missouri ends up at Radio City Musical Hall holding one of these without some divine intervention. I want to say hello to my daughters. My beautiful daughters, Clara and Maggie, who are my inspiration every night and everyday. I love you two so much and there's no school tomorrow. Ok, um, my parents are here. Norbert and Elaine. Yes, he is the culprit. My best friend, Michelle Federer, thank you for making me laugh on the inside again. Elin Flack, my manager, thank you for believing in me from the beginning. My agents, especially Lindsay Porter and Larry Taub, thank you so much. Thank you to Marty Bell, a truly compassionate producer who's given me another great part. The Old Globe Theatre, a great regional theater who gave us a home to create this play. Support regional theater around the country! To the best cast on Broadway. Sherie Scott, my dear, dear, dear, dear friend and my wonderful scene partner and my life friend. Joanna, Greg, Sara Gettelfinger. And to John Lithgow, I have one of these, and I'm honored, but you have what I really want, which is the respect and gratitude of every person in this community. I love you so much. Thank you." — Norbert Leo Butz, Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
