LOL. When Norbert took the role in Wicked b/c he was being offered a role ("sweet!"), he seemed to be half joking. But of course, we all need to eat and work. :) I loved, loved his onstage chemistry with Idina. And the show would not be as successful or popular (ha!) without the OBC laying the foundation. I am thrilled to have him on the OBCR, and would not know who he is, if not for Wicked first.

You and me both. I'm very grateful to Wicked for introducing me to Norbert - no matter how small and under-written his part really was. And about the whole "half joking" thing, you're probably right. We know how much he loved the novel, so that probably had something to do with him accepting the role.

omg this show is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The music was great and the staging was even better! Norbert rocked (as usual) as did John and Sherie. I was like hyperventilating in my chair when Norbert came out. My friend had to calm me down. His voice is just.....GAH!...it makes me melt. There. I really can't describe it!
I ran like a mad person to the stage door (I was so determined to meet Sherie) and I just caught her coming out. I was literally the only one there. She was so kind and sweet!! Then Norbert came out a few moments later. *squeal* He's waay too kind for his own good! It's crazy! I also met John (who was really kind). I can't get over how great the show was!!
Norbert was out when I saw "Wicked." Taye Diggs played his role. Now that I've seen him in "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" I am a fan for life. He sings wonderfully and his physical comedy is on par with the greats. Just watching him chew on beef jerky made my mouth drop open. He's wild!!
haha, the beef jerky scene was one of my favourites. The Ruprecht stuff, though... brilliant. Everybody was talking about him at intermission.
Nervousness aside, it's a dream of mine to meet Norbert and Sherie. :)
I've never thought of chewing on beef jerky as funny. LOL. But I can only imagine how Norbert could make something like that hysterical.
Alejandra :)
Yes, Emcee, that was my favorite part as well. John Lithgow is really perfect in this role, but Norbert steals the show.
Alejandra, it's amazing. There's dialogue going on, and Norbert's sitting on the steps to the side battling with this beef jerky. Then he just ends up on the floor. I don't think I paid one bit of attention the conversation going on. It was ridiculous; he's a complete scene stealer.
He and John are a perfect combination. He's enormous, though, and Nobert's like this tenacious little guy at his feet. It's great.
*pops in to pull Emcee by the ears and drag her to the Adam thread*

But but but....
No, you go on and enjoy your Norbert love. It's nice to have a few 'substitutes' once in a while... I know what I'm talking about...
QM
Well, I need to fill the void.
That's true. I'm doing that as well at the moment! We gotta do what we gotta do. His own fault...

*cries because she misses her Adam*
My mommy said Norbert reminded her of Adam.
Damned double posts....
Oh, yeah. He flails and thrashes around, literally wrestling the beef jerky. It's priceless. The audience was ROARING with laughter.
The Norbert/Adam, Sherie/Idina overlap is frighteningly ridiculous.
Adam/Nobert - Roger, Emcee... Fiyero and Radames are pretty similar. Norbert's a billion times the actor Adam will ever be, even though Adam totally owns Roger. Too bad I didn't see Nobert's Emcee.
Idina and Sherie... they're had two of the same parts, right? Amneris and Maureen?
Yeah, they've had two of the same parts. Though I can totally see Idina playing Christine in DRS (though I don't really know how her comedy is).
Probably not too bad if she did Amneris.
I really have little-to-no idea about anything having to do with Aida except the basic storyline and that Adam, Sherie, and Idina were all in it at some point. LOL

o0o0o0. darnit. i guess i was seeing things again. lol.
I'll repeat, just because I can and just because I want someone to take me up on it:
What other scenes were favs? I live for spoilers, so if you only want to tell me in PM or whatever, it's all good.
Great Big Stuff. Norbert broke out into all of these ridiculous dance moves, and made fun of rappers, Jewish kids at their Bar Mitzvahs... everything. He slid down the railing of the steps, poked around at everything in John's character's house and was just totally obnoxious.
I've heard GBS, so I know the LYRICS are funny, but I had no idea what he did half the time except for what I've seen of rehearsal video and those old clips that used to be up on the Old Globe site.
"Get me a posse n' sh*t, aiight?"
Bwahaha.
