GAH.
That's all.
More later.
But but but... I have so much work to do. I promise I'll tell soon!
*Sobs* I suppose I can wait... I'll just sit here, twitching in anticipation.
The actual meeting isn't really that great, since I'm practically mute. But... okay, I'm really going to read now. I promise I'll post lots later!
Okay, okay. At least you can say you've met him even though you were a mute. Did you get a picture?
What do u think Norberts best role was? I was thinking about this today and really couldn't come up with anything.

I would say the Emcee. But, I haven't seen DRS yet.
I absolutely loved him in TL5Y - the emotional rollercoaster he went on during the show astounds me and he did it wonderfully. That man's talent knows no bounds. I wish I could have seen him in something else. DRS will be this summer. :)
Emcee, I read your Dirty Rotten review on the other board. Great job. . Can't wait to read more of your meeting with Norbert! Did you meet Sherie as well?
Best role of Norbert's: I'd say The Last Five Years, although I haven't seen DRS yet. Jamie is a very complex character, experiencing a myriad of emotions, and in the hands of a lesser actor, might not have come off as compelling, likeable or sympathetic.
But I also give him tremendous credit for working wonders with Fiyero in Wicked, and also kicking ass in Thou Shalt Not (from what I've heard).

For anyone who hasn't seen it yet. Thanks, Alejandra!
So yeah... I met Norbert, but Sherie didn't come out. Norbert's really friendly, but I'm very quiet. I was just like "can you sign this," handing him my playbill and told him he was great. I took a picture with him... it came out alright. A random guy decided his shoulder would be a nice addition to my photo, apparently. So yeah... it wasn't really out-of-the-ordinary, but it was really good to finally meet him!
I'm now convinced that Fiyero, while fun to see I'm sure, was a complete waste of his talents.
Even if the picture only came out alright, can I see it whenever you get it on your computer? Updated On: 2/6/05 at 11:54 PM
Sure. Check your PM's.
I'm very shy as well, and I don't quite know how I'd react if I got the chance to meet him. I would be speechless, probably!
As for Fiyero: I loved him in the role, and he did as well as anyone could with a role that underwritten. And he sang *gorgeously* ("maybe I'm brainless, maybe I'm wise..." *sigh*). But I totally agree--the role didn't allow him to showcase or maximize his immense talents. :)

I don't think it was a complete waste. It certainly proved that his voice sounds amazing with Idina Menzel's, and that they both have incredible chemistry. Not to mention those damn white pants. Of course, those have nothing to do with his talents... more like his assets. *Cough*
Well, a waste acting-wise. White pants, mmmm.. Singing, mmmm.
Well, no. Not acting-wise. Not unless you saw the footwear from his last day. That was really emotional (in my opinion).
I don't know. My philosophy is the same as it was when Adam was thinking about taking the part; he could've done so much better. It's like Radames, but way more underwritten.
Norbert admits the only reason he did Wicked was because they offered him the job. When you need work, you need work.
Very true. But, I'm glad he's finally showing himself off in a better role.
Me too. DRS is his show if you ask me. I mean.. most people know John, on Broadway, for SSoS; Sherie for Aida; Joanna for ITW; etc. I don't know what else Gregory and Sara have done.
grrr, i've never actually seen norbert in anything but still love his work. maybe that'll end when i make it to ny to see drs.
emcee, i totally feel you on the whole getting shy thing. and i'm not always a shy person. saw michael arden in pippin today and wanted to say something but clammed up. what do you guys usually say when you stagedoor?
I'm not the person to ask that to, because I am by NO means shy. I tend to babble myself stupid at the stage door and say stuff I'll regret after they've left. But if I'm able to keep myself composed, I usually just comment on their performance and the show, etc. Typical stuff.
LOL. When Norbert took the role in Wicked b/c he was being offered a role ("sweet!"), he seemed to be half joking. But of course, we all need to eat and work. :) I loved, loved his onstage chemistry with Idina. And the show would not be as successful or popular (ha!) without the OBC laying the foundation. I am thrilled to have him on the OBCR, and would not know who he is, if not for Wicked first.
