I guess there is no more Hairspray songs in every show choir's show. Now it is Wicked! Read this...it's someone from a show choir forum.
"Hey all!
I am totally excited about my group's show this year, and knowing that there are a lot of Wicked freaks out there like me... I wanted to give you a heads up.
If you are competing agaist us, and you are a Wicked fan you must try your hardest to see us... and if you don't compete agaist us, you will want to try and find a way to see us.... I promise that you will not be disappointed. (Not trying to sound conceded.) Our show is completely Wicked. There's nothing that isn't Wicked about it. Our songs are One Short Day, What Is This Feeling?, Dancing Through Life, For Good, and a Wicked Medloy where we get to "kill the witch". It's totally awesome and according to others that have told me about our show.... you will not be disappointed."

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Okay. I'm done.

show choirs have themes? Interesting...
Are you going to have a bunch of soloists? Because For Good is only two people... Is this your spring musical?
Kind of confused...

Ya, it's over, lol...they are just behind.
FYI...THAT IS NOT MY SHOW CHOIR!
Here is a pic I found...the caption was "Yes, I'm Elphaba. Hollerrrrrrr!!!!!"

That make-up looks like it is gonna make her skin breakout badly.

HAHAHAHA!! That's so... unfortunate. She looks like she has some sort of skin disease... besides a green pigmentation disease. And I don't appreciate being able to see the surgical tape holding her mic to her face.
I actually think that singing "You Can't Stop the Beat" would be fun. Of course, I would get the most talented folks I know... I wouldn't be having any high school wannabe up there belting out Kerry Butler's part (or anyone's part, for that matter). It's a cute, energetic, not-vocally-demanding song. I just would dread hearing some Anytown, USA high school production of it.

Posted: 1/27/05 at 4:56pmi think i'd be fun too, but she's only in 7th grade (NOT high school) and says she can't keep up with it -- i recommended Welcome to the 60's.

Posted: 1/27/05 at 6:04pmI'm playing piano for You Can't Stop the Beat for our chorus. It's a hell of a piece, but a lot of fun to play. The version available for choirs omit the Penny/Seaweed and Edna parts.
