Well, I am going to completely humiliate myself with this post, but I'm kinda desperate and need some advice. I give you full permission to point and laugh, and talk about how stupid I am because of my youth - because quite frankly, I am.
Alright, well, here goes. I was quite intoxicated when my friends and I decided to play a game of 'Truth or Dare'. So mature, I know. Well, my dare was the following: to shave off my eyebrows. Now, being a prideful person, I did not want to be a "chicken", and being as intoxicated as I was definitely helped in my decision to completely shave them off.
*Pointing and laughing goes here*
Alright, so all you show people!! I'm hoping you all can help me since most of us (if we are actors) spend tons of time in front of the mirror putting makeup on and contorting our faces to look like something else. So, any advice on how to "draw" them in, or whatever? I have a brown eyebrow pencil but that's about it. I can always go buy whatever.
I know this is probably the most ridiculous post to ever hit BWW, but I was hoping that my Broadway loving fellow actors, makeup artists, etc. would have some tricks up their sleves. Let me know!!
*Enter more pointing and laughing*
Lovin' you all!

You'll look more ridiculous if you drawn them. Just let them go and hope they grow back.
A stencil and spray paint.

You do know that after you shave them off they grow back twice as thick. You're going to make Brian d'Arcy James look like Hedwig.

Just hope to GOD that they grow back in time for an important audition. Have you ever seen an old woman with drawn on eyebrows that looked ridiculous? And you wonder to yourself: Jeez why can't she just let it go? That's probably what you'd look like.
You could try growing a mustache to distract from your bald brow.
Speaking as someone who plucked mine out when I did drag...
If you are going to paint on eyebrows, make sure the pencil is super sharp. Don't just draw the outline of your brows as fill them in (That people's BIG mistake) but draw many little lines, like individual hairs.
It takes practice, but with time, you'll get it.
Funny, I plucked all of mine out when I was high on crystal decades ago. I drew my brows the way I wanted them to look (while in drag) and then I just plucked out all of the hairs that were out side of the lines. I looked flawless...
Until I took the make-up off and realized I had two tiny patches of hair left for eyebrows.
At least you shaved yours. They WILL come back in thicker though, but they will come back.
Oh, we should see pictures. Really. If you are going to embarrass yourself, might as well go all of the way!

And a hearty LOL to that!
Here are some looks to aim for from the eyebrow stencil catalog...
AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!
LOL!! that dog has eye brows!
There's actually a kit that allows you to draw on the shape with wax and then use a powder to fill them in. It's more realistic than most I have seen.
I'd be inclined to just leave it. As a woman who is fighting a constant battle with her eyebrows to keep them in shape, I can tell you it doesn't take too long (it doesn't take long enough at all!) for eyebrows to grow back, so just leave them to it. If someone comments, grin sheepishly, admit you made a drunken error, laugh it off, go on with your life.
It's a lie about eyebrows growing in twice as thick if you shave them. Honestly, do you people not know anything? However, a shaved hair has a stubby cut-off end whereas a plucked one growing back in will have a thin tapered end, which can make the finished product look somewhat thicker. Those hairs will fall out and be replaced after a few months though. Next time, wax your eyebrows. :P
If you simply MUST draw them in, then do as Diva suggests: super-sharp pencil, lots of little tiny lines. You don't want to draw each hair perfectly, so don't get caught up in, just make sure you're doing lots of tiny strokes instead of one big bold one.
are there things one does when drunk that are NOT stupid?
"It's a lie about eyebrows growing in twice as thick if you shave them. Honestly, do you people not know anything?"
Uh, yea. From years of experience.
Once you shave your eyebrows, the hair comes in at the same thickness it was cut at. So, they won't be soft and they grow out very stiff.
Do YOU know anything?
They're not *actually* thicker, they just appear to be because you have stubby little eyebrow hairs. Which I already clarified in my first post. :P
Yes, they are thicker than before you shaved them.

Blame Al-Quaida.
What if you were born without enough eyebrows? I"m forced to draw mine in!
Same advice...
SHARP eyebrow pencil...
Little strokes.
Weez is correct.
From www.mayoclinic.com:
Q. Is it true that shaving unwanted body hair makes it grow back thicker and darker?
A. No. Shaving hair doesn't change its thickness or color. The color, location, thickness and length of hair on your body mainly depend on genetics and hormones. After you shave body hair, it may feel coarse or "stubbly" for a time as it grows out. During this phase, it may be more noticeable — and may appear darker or thicker. But it's not.
Diva, can you recommend a good eyebrow pencil? I think I've tried all of them, cheap and expensive-either you can never sharpen them once the point is gone, or they're too thick a point to begin with.

I am a total mythbuster and I will gladly shoot down anyone who claims that hair grows in thicker after it is cut.
However, hair outside the body tends to get softer and lighter (from the sun and the elements) so when you shave it and let it grow back, the hair that grows seems darker and coarser. It is, but not because you shaved it, just because the stuff there before was worn down from the same dark and coarse stuff.
Well...at least this will be funny story to tell at parties once your brows grow back!
Well, I guess the people that have never done it before have their own opinion...
There's a huge difference between shaving your back and shaving your eyebrows.
Jane,
I use MAC, and the secret to getting a fine, sharp point, is:
After you sharpen the pencil, squeeze the tip with your fingers to flatten it. You will get a fine, smooth, and sharp line, but just not a thick one.
