"Old Spice" will be 're-launched' with some retro, sexually suggestive ads. One ad features Faye Dunaway in a 'provactive' pose saying "If your grandfather hadn't warn it, you wouldn't exist!"

Do they really think kids want to sleep with FAYE DUNAWAY? Or smell like a sexy grandpa? Ugh. I guess I've lived too long. I expect Hai Karate will be next.

i saw an old spice ad last night that was just bizarre. bruce campbell in a pseudo-english country gentleman outfit talking about "if you've never had it, you'll never get it. if you don't know whether you've got it or not, you don't have it..." ad infinitum as he walked past a painting of a ship with about 37 masts and approximately 4,721 sails. never mentioned the product until the very end and then only as a graphic. it was just odd. i know they're trying for a new audience, but it was just off.

Mine too Rath--- or rather, every holiday, Dad got at least one bottle of "Old Spice" which immediately was stashed in the back of the Linen closet. Apparently he thought that since his natural musk of Stale cigars, laundry starch and old meat had landed him 6 kids, he needed no further enhancements.

Was Old Spice the one that had the ad a couple of years ago, "Men Are Back"?

"He'll take a pass on poetry..."

I always found that so offensive.

Whatever happened to Hi Karate? Now that stuff gives me a boner!

Yes, my dad got his for Xmas gifts as well. But he wore it!

As a result, I am very attracted to women with the cheap scent of the sea.

Oh, Rath. When I was a kid, one of the altos in my church choir used to smell like a shrimp trawler. You'd have been in heaven!

I believe she is still alive but lives in an assisted living place and gets around by scooter now.

I've always liked the scent of Old Spice. I use the new shower gels, but they are a completely different scent from the cologne.

I was an English Leather girl. I have many, many, MANY fond memories of a guy named Tom and EL. When I'm a hundred and can't remember where I left my teeth, I'll still remember Tom and English Leather.

I think I had the Old Spice Soap-on-a-rope as a kid...oh now that sh*t needs to make a comeback, soap on a rope.
It just looked so hot, hanging against a Nautilus-toned, unshaved chest.

Brut! I haven't thought of that in years.
Calvin, the more of your posts I read, the more I'm convinced I would have had a total crush on you if we were at the same high school.
