I don't know what to say.
Oliver Stone's upcoming movie W. is "a chronicle on the life and presidency of George W. Bush".
The cast members that have been announced include:
Josh Brolin as George W. Bush
Elizabeth Banks as Laura Bush
Ellen Burstyn as Barbara Bush
James Cromwell as George H.W. Bush
Jeffrey Wright is rumored to be playing Colin Powell.
http://imdb.com/title/tt1175491/
Thandie Newton is playing Condi
As much as I love Oliver Stone's work, I don't think I could sit through this without wanting to throw popcorn at the screen.

Reportedly, The 1st few pages of the real script leaked onto the web today, I read them earlier, but can't find the link anymore... I really hope those pages are fake or are soon given a heavy re-write, because it just seems AWFUL, and I really thought at first that this had a lot of potential.
I think the number of contracts taken out on Oliver Stone's life will sky rocket after this movie.

While Ellen Burstyn is a good actress, she is not right for Barbara Bush. First of all, she's too pretty for Barbara Bush. They should have tried to get Patricia Routledge.

I heard the pages that leaked were from before the writers strike and that there have been re-writes and many changes since then. We'll just to have to wait and see but I am not at all surprised that some will judge the film before one frame has even been shot.
I just don't get why the film is being made now. We are living in this administration, what can he tell us about it that we already haven't lived ourselves? I mean, at least Michael Moore (yes, as controversial and ridiculous as he gets sometimes) gives us documentaries that attempt to reveal a new side of things, but I feel the film can't help but being a "Bush administration in summary." Perhaps I'm jumping to certain conclusions a bit too early but that's how I feel about this.
THE QUEEN successfully focused on one single event that gave us some great insight into this powerful woman. It was a greatly interesting character study, as well as a neat film about monarchy and their relationship with the people. I wonder if Stone will be able to make something similar through this administration, but Bush is so dull, dumb, and ignorant that I don't think he would make for an interesting leading character.

Exactly!

I disagree.
I think he's a truly fascinating individual, especially if you read any of those "Deconstructing Bush" pop-psychology books.
I don't like the title.
They should call it Hee-Haw instead.
Goth, Patricia Routledge as Barbara Bush. Now, that's casting!
I was thinking John Goodman would make an excellent Barbara Bush - or Benny Hill.
George Clooney as Barbara Bush. Now, that's casting!
Put him in the wig and pearls and I defy you to tell the difference.

Exactly. Barbara Bush was never a pretty woman. She was always matronly. That could never be said about Ellen Burstyn.

I would like to see a remake of DANCER IN THE DARK with George W. Bush playing the Bjork role.
Who in their right mind thinks that this movie is going to make a dime?

They are making it for the international crowd. People who hate America love things like this. Just ask Mark Cuban who financed "Redacted".
Oh, yes those awful non-Americans your kind hate so much. Forgot about them.
John Goodman, Patricia Routledge and Barbara Bush are all the same person. I've never seen them together.
How about Dame Edna as Barbara Bush? Or Harvey Fierstein?
