It was truly beautiful how they did the opening...i cant wait to see how they're going to light the torch. I loved that statue that exploded into more statues...very cool.

Was anyone else annoyed by Katie and Bob Costas - Did we really need commentary during Bjork's musical number? It looked pretty cool but I couldn't tell you a thing about the song because Bob & Katie talked over the ENTIRE thing!

Ugh I agree, I hated the commentary during the opening. That was beautiful though, I would have liked to watch it without Katie making stupid comments throughout the whole thing though!
On a sidenote I had to stop watching it to run up to my room screaming like the girl I am because my damn cat caught a mouse in our basement and brought it up...AHHHHHHHH!!! I HATE MICE AND THAT STUPID CAT!!

The glowing pregnant lady was somewhat alarming.
The exploding statue, though? Very, very cool. It reminded me of Michaelangelo saying that he just uncovered David inside that block of marble.

Hey guys, glad you liked it !!! I was right next door at the Indoor Stadium where all the athletes came and I was with the team getting them ready and sending them to the parade !! It was a fantastic night that made us all very proud ! Our History, Creativity and Originality was all the show was about !! Of course it is a gay guy who was behind the idea and the execution of the whole ceremony, it was and inventive and spectacular, how else could it be !! And the Torch was simple and plain, because it was a copy of the flame torch that went all around the world. The motto of our games is return to simplicity and humanity, so the organisers felt that it didn't have to be spectacular and Hollywood like !! But the rest of the show sure rocked !!! And I am very happy that, contrary to what some believed, ALL the teams got a huge applause and especially my beloved U.S Team !! Ok, I am off to the Olympic Village now, we still have 16 days of hard work !!
