re: re: re: re: re: On The Train Today...

Because as I said, "It is possible."
I was using that story as a reference because even if it is not true, that does not mean that it could not be true. No, I never believed it 100%; but that does not mean that I don't believe it COULD be possible.

I'm so glad you might actually have some hope for me. Now I can go on with the rest of my life *please note sarcasm*

Honestly, tb, that's like a third grader's argument.

I understand "you're" confusion Anthony, since unlike you, that man and I can read. But I wasn't on a train yesterday, I was home nursing some codeine cough syrup.

TheatreBaby, your argument that "it is possible" seems to be a little protective bubble you keep around yourself so that you do not "feel bad everytime you see a homeless person". It makes you feel better to believe these people have a home and are just too lazy to get a job and panhandling in the freezing/sweltering streets is so much easier for them than working in a warm/cool office for eight hours a day. Wake up, affluent woman! And that's where I am at.
PEACE.

One of my most horrifying experiences with a homeless eprson was a few years ago in NYC. There was a man sitting on a corner close to one of the 5th Ave designer stores, Prada, Armani, one of them. He had a cardborad sign asking for help and stating taht he had AIDS. What was horrifying is that as my freind and I were passing by it looked to me like the man was dead. He was perfectly still, eyes closed and had a frightening gray-yellow palor to his face.

People passed by, looked the other way, pretended not see so as not to be offended by the presence of what could be a man dead from AIDs within spitting distance of Prada, Armani, Versace...whatever. All the young execs (Trump wannbes), the young socialites (Paris wannabes) and the old money blue bloods (Jackie O wannabes)just breezed past. Maybe they too thought it was a scam or just some lazy good for nothing trying to make an easy buck on a sweltering hot day in August.

Well, when I approached him to make sure he was alive and see if he needed any help, I did carefully check to make sure the poor coloring and the KS lesions were not done with make up. Still, I can't help but wonder if one of those penthouses up there on the 57th floor overlooking the park belonged to him.

Anyone else reminded of the episode of Barney Miller where, for the major part of the episode, they're keeping a homeless derilict in the cage and then at the end he confesses to being an eccentric billionaire? Because that's the only possibility I see of that story having any truth, tb-- on TV Land.

He is, just does terrible movies.

Were you perhaps thinking Jack Soo, papa?

re: re: re: omg

Yup, Abe is still with us.

Do y'all remember THE STONE PILLOW with Lucille Ball as a homeless woman. Now that was believable. Or Bette Davis in POCKETFUL OF MIRACLES?

WoJo is dead? I could have sworn I saw him in a recent tv show or movie and to think for a few minutes to remember who he was.
