This airs Sunday on ABC with Carol Burnett and Tracy Ullman. I really don't know if this will be as good as the orginal one with Burnett, but it may be worth watching.

Even if it's bad Tracey and Carol will make it worth watching.

I don't know if I would even watch it for them. It looks rather scary.

omg u've never heard of Once Upon A Mattress? I love this musical! haha has some fun songs

I certainly hope it is better than the color (second) television version. The original black and white one had a better book, and the woman who played the queen was fantastic. (perhaps the first time I've seen a black woman in white-face on television) I love Carol and Tracey, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

"I don't really get the ending,all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang,and later she kissed him on the toilet,after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung,and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen,and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady?Please help me,thank u very much!" I've seen so many bad productions of the rather weak play that I wasn't all that excited about it. The Washington Post has a very enthusiastic review of the show this morning. They highly recommend it, so I'm now intrigued. Tommy Smothers plays the king, by the way. How could this not be a fun romp?

I am with Bluemoon. After so many bad productions, it will be hard to get into. The cast looks great so maybe there us some hope.

When I interviewed Matt Morrison in May, he was very enthusiastic about the project--although he hadn't seen the finished product.

Metacritic has it listed on their site. The reviews seem to be good except for those who don't like the inherrent 'sweetness' of the piece. If that's their major problem, then I'm going to love it - I happen to LIKE 'sweet'. I'm tired of overt cynicism and negativity. I'll be very grateful for a little retro 'sweetness'.

Actually, Jane White (who is black)played the Queen in BOTH previous TV versions, as well as the original stage production.

Jon - yes - Jane White's performance was one of the few redeeming qualities of the color remake. I hope, in this new version, that they reinstate the sweet ballad that the princess sings in her chamber as she's studying for the test - I seem to remember them taking it out of the second (color) version.

I will watch it, but yeah, after ABC's "The Music Man" I am not expecting much.

I saw it.

It may be the messiest, ugliest looking production I've ever seen of anything - TV or Stage. Cluttered and cramped and overstuffed, it looks like the set designers went potluck at the late lamented 26th street flea market.

I really missed Jane White.

im looking foward to it, disney usually does a pretty damn good job at the made for tv musical versions with ozome cast. I think the only one that wasnt my cup of tea was the cinderella remake

OUAM is so campy and cheeseball that I think it'll be a bit difficult to completely massacre. But, I guess we shall see.
