re: re: '....She will NEVER be good enough to be on Broadway'

Oh Bulldog..if this thread was about The Dolly Sisters, Blossom Seeley or Butterbeans & Susie you'd be in hog heaven!

One thread on this sacred board about Ms. Spears had hits totaling over 1700...

Look at the hits on this thread and it's been up three hours...

Looks like even Broadway diehards want to read about Ms. Spears while of course trashing her..

It reminds me of what they used to do 20 years ago to that Madonna woman!

Ahhh Bulldog. I'm sure you're aware that people gather on this board to share their love of theater. There have been several posts regarding off-broadway and regional theater here and I never heard you once complain about them being off topic. Also, please note the off-broadway section of the site. It's listed under features to your right.
Of course I don't think a thread about Britney is really all that theater related. However if you don't like the subject of a post skip it. But you however seemed interested enough to click on it, read all the posts, and respond yourself.

Erik, did I also miss the communinque' from RobbD that says no dissenting opinions allowed? Or the one saying that be one can only read and respond if you agree the the topic under discussion?

If so, please be so kind as forward them to me.

Many thanks.

Bulldog.

Bulldog,

You can read and dissent all you'd like.

However, your comment regarding 'off-Broadway' was obnoxious and insulting to those of us who have worked there.

Lord knows Broadway is still THE place where all of the great theatrical art happens.

How many Pulitzer Prize-winning plays of the last decade originated on Broadway?

Oh, that's right. None.

I promise you Voice, that this is just an initial *media blitz" sales rush. It will come to a grinding halt in about a week. Furthermore, don't bet your life on the concept that she actually *sold* that many units. I'm sure there are about 200,000 copies sitting in a wharehouse somewhere in Jersey. Oldest music business trick in the book. It's a "trick" tailor made for people, such as yourself, that buy into it and perpetuate it. Mark my words, it's going to be considered a big stinker for her. Let's meet back about it on pm, in a few months.

Wait ... A new Blink - 182 album? WHY?
"SUNY Binghamton, yes. I'm sure getting a degree from SUNY Binghamton is very useful. Normally to get a degree with that kind of credibility you'd have to study in Guatemala or Haiti."

You folks don't understand the basic logic of Voice's post.

big dollar sales = talent

Get it?

If you sell a lot of stuff, you're talented! Get it? It's so basic and simple people.

Leif Garrett. Sold millions of records. "Porky's II" made millions of dollars.

How many albums has Sutton sold?? Huh????

She can dream.

I see a "where are they now" in her future, without a doubt. Or at the very least, a job as a talent competition judge.

AV: I think you will sooner see Sutton or Karen Ziemba on one of those shows, begging for bucks, before you see Britney...

and unlike Paula and Debbie and Cyndi...

Britney is worth around 80 million dollars...

I don't see a "Colored Lights" album and a stint as Belle anywhere in her future!
