Hi,
I just adopted a 10 month old orange tabby female. I have a huge list of names...I won't bore you with the whole list. So far, the favorites are:
Ruby
Ginger
Penny
Kelly
Molly
Roxie
For the most part, I'm going with the orange fur/Irish theme (my male cat is named Murphy).
Opinions, please!
Not yet a crazy cat lady...right?

That's awful.
I think the band was called the Screaming Mollys. I think.

No! It was the Flogging Molly. I knew it was something Molly.
(I didn't say I liked them that much to remember their name.)

I had a calico named Ginger. She lived a long time -- about 20 years -- so it's a lucky name for a cat.
My sister also had a Lab named Molly. It didn't live so long.

I was original with my pets. The first cat I had was solid black, except for it's feet. Her name was Socks. My first dog was solid black. His name was Midnight.
And then when Socks was put to sleep, we got another kitty. Named Cat. Then this homeless cat came around and we adopted her. Her name was Kit Cat.

Haha, yeah, my aunt has a dog named Puppy. That wouldn't have been so bad, but the dog is like a labrador, so she's about four years old now and she's huge and we still have to call her Puppy.
I like Molly, especially with your other cat being named Murphy. Molly and Murphy just sound good together.
This makes me miss my cats so much
We had to get rid of them when we moved and we really DID take them to a farm. I miss Cleo and Tiger.

Posted: 8/3/06 at 5:46pmThose names aren't really Irish at all. Kelly, perhaps, but as a surname, but if You're looking for something cheesily Irish you could go for Reilly, or one of those obscure names that we use (they come from Irish (Gaelic)), like Maolochlann, Naoise, Caolfhiann, Seafra or Thongaoth.

Posted: 8/3/06 at 5:50pmAll five are actual Irish names, well, four are, the other is just an irish profanity but I'll leave it to you lot to figure out which one. Oh, and never let someone tell you 'Pog mo Thoin' (pronounced Poeg mu Hoin) It means kiss my ass and loads of irish people use it for cheap laughs (oops, the secret is out).

Posted: 8/3/06 at 6:04pmI think, of the Irish names I suggested, Caolfhionn would be the best, because it means fair haired and, well, caol. Not sure what that bit means. Maolochlann means Bald O'Laughlann (O' Laughlann being a surname). Not sure why people who aren't even O'Laughlanns give that name to their kids, but they do.
