I don't think writing about race issues should be the province solely of people who have to deal with them in their lives. That's just silly. But people will always complain.

Don't even get me started on complaints from fandoms about what and how shows get written. Do I always love everything a writer creates? Absolutely not. However, I don't get why people have to be rude and make demands on writers. You also get the ones who think they can write better material, which I disagree with, mostly.

I like a lot of the characters. I do think sometimes there are way too many though. Like I counted 17 regular cast members. Plus you get the ones like Norma, Sophia, Maritza, Maria, Leanne, Angie, etc... around frequently. I think this could be why some things don't seem to get closure.

Finished 12 this week. My daughters warned me - they texted a few weeks crying about the death.

Overall, excellent season. Back stories interesting and the caliber of acting is superb. Judy King amuses me. And Lolly might be one of my favs ever.

Well I doubt we'll see her again.

I love Lolly too. Her flashback episode was heartbreaking. She has such a warmth and innocence. Speaking of heartbreaking, Suzanne's flashback was so sad. Blanca's flashback was pretty great too. That ending! Orange is at its best when the flashbacks show a character in a new and meaningful light that enhances our current understanding of her life in prison. Those were three of my favorites, and I think they worked really well. Blanca was such a badass! Loved it. I read some negative comments (somewhere?) that the final scene was incongruous to the rest of the show. I liked it. I thought it worked. Cutting up a body and burying it in a garden--that would get your adrenaline going. I was with the season from moment one and I never let go.


I thought this season was great. It left us on such a cliffhanger, Poussey's flashback was so lovely and dreamlike, it made me cry. Noteworthy moments... The mouse! I couldn't even watch that scene. I have big issues with animals and that image of the baby mouse in the shot glass stayed with me for days. The branding... That was brutal.

Looking ahead... Oh gosh, I can't remember her name. The one who ran off with Suzanne to the house in the woods in the first episode. That one. When. Capita looked at her file, he reacted like she did some crazy stuff. I'd like to see a flashback on her. The mouse guard is a total psychopath. I hope we get some background on him. He scares the crap out me, I can't believe we have to wait a whole year to find out what happens. Ugh. And I'm kind of with you on Laverne Cox. I don't think she's a bad actress. I thought she was pretty good in her scenes in the SHU. I just feel like I'm seeing her everywhere lately and I'm a little over her at the moment.
