so sad, truly a great artist

amazing, I never knew this
Something of a renaissance man, Winchell was also an inventor who held 30 patents, including one for an early artificial heart he built in 1963 and then donated to the University of Utah for research. Dr. Robert Jarvik and other University of Utah researchers later became well-known for the Jarvik-7, which was implanted into patients after 1982.
That's awesome (the inventor thing).
But this is really sad now, I have to break the news to my family.
Tigger was an icon.

Shoot. I really like Tigger's voice!
Now it's going to be a worthless replacement...
More sad news from the world of Pooh. This just in, from the New York Times. Tigger and Piglet gone on consecutive days. Goodbye, Mr. Winchell and Mr. Fiedler. We'll miss you. The Hundred-Acre Wood just won't be the same.

Coincidentally, John Fiedler also appeared as a guest on a few episodes of BEWITCHED. He was one of those character actors who seemed to pop up everywhere.
