Yes. There is, in fact, video. I'm terrified. My contract doesn't give me final cut.
Thanks for the kind words, everyone. It was an honor to be able to speak on behalf of our beautiful Rachel.
I would love to see the video.
From the photos and what has been said, it sounds like it truly was a celebration of a life well lived.

I'm glad that it was a fitting, beautiful ceremony.

Every detail was just perfect. From the 'Jacques Brel' CD on one of the tables (a wonderful obsession of Iflit's), to the moving 'Timeline' of her life - with photos and cards for each of the guests to include a story or memory - and all of the beautiful photographs, it was just such an uplifting display of an incredible life.
Iflit's family - especially her son and daughter - couldn't have put together a more fitting and wonderful celebration of her life.
I have a pink peace sign necklace (one of the table decorations) hanging off the corner of my computer at work today. It's has pride of place! And always will.
Some friends are going to have a great view of all of the shows tonight.
Peace On!
Giving great Thanks for the love and laughter that Iflit brought to my life.
I'm missing her like crazy, and know that this will be a difficult holiday for her family.
Sending them my love, and sending Iflit a prayer of Peace this Thanksgiving.
We just found out that our baby girl will be born on Tuesday, February 12. I was curious as to her zodiac sign (which I shouldn't be since her birthday falls between mine and my dad's, but I have an overwhelmed brain today.) It's Aquarius, like both of us. I immediately thought of Hair, which, of course, made me think of Rachel. It was a blessing in a very stressful, but blessed day. I like to think that maybe they somehow met in crossing and hopefully, she instilled some of that flitty magic into my daughter. It feels perfect somehow. <3 I think of you often, sweet soul.

This has me bawling. I think about her several times every day.
Rachel crosses my mind quite often as well. It's one of the beauties of life that those positive individuals with whom we cross paths remain a powerful presence even when they are no longer with us. Just one more trip to the theatre, please.
RIP
I miss alot of things about Rachel. I eps miss all the PMs that I had frm her in my msg box that have been cleaned out.
I relish the moments when a memory of Rachel pops into my head.
So much joy.
JG2, my sister's birthday is February 12th and it is Lincoln's birthday. Little one will be in very good company.

Well, obviously, this calls for a name change, JG. You now have to call your daughter Rachel Lincolnia. Flitty for short.
Ha ha. True story. Idina and Bernadette will be disappointed.
As it happens, today's This Day in History's lead item was
1964 - Beatles arrive in New York
Of course, Rachel saw them in Cleveland, not New York (as a 12-year-old, taken by her mom)
...it's hard to belive we are reaching that 'first year' milestone. A year ago we gathered around her to send her off with peace.
I have missed Rachel's laugh, and her love and her wonderful presence in my world.
I am so fortunate to have been part of her life. I miss her every single day.
Peace my beautiful friend. Love and peace.
Yes, I realized that a couple of days ago and I changed my avatar in her honor. I didn't know iflitifloat (Rachel) personally, only through these boards, but she was definitely a comforting, sweet presence here.
She is missed.
Think about her often. Miss her presence. Hope her family is doing ok. Milestones like this are hard.
You are missed ,dear friend, and reminded of in so many wonderful ways everyday.

I never knew her, but her posts were always so kind and uplifting. May she rest in peace.
