Next week, Sarah Palin is scheduled to meet with the leaders of Georgia, the Ukraine, Iraq, Pakistan, and India. And Bono.

WHILE campaigning in public for a speedy withdrawal of US troops from Iraq, Sen. Barack Obama has tried in private to persuade Iraqi leaders to delay an agreement on a draw-down of the American military presence.

According to Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, Obama made his demand for delay a key theme of his discussions with Iraqi leaders in Baghdad in July.

"He asked why we were not prepared to delay an agreement until after the US elections and the formation of a new administration in Washington," Zebari said in an interview.

Obama insisted that Congress should be involved in negotiations on the status of US troops - and that it was in the interests of both sides not to have an agreement negotiated by the Bush administration in its "state of weakness and political confusion."

"However, as an Iraqi, I prefer to have a security agreement that regulates the activities of foreign troops, rather than keeping the matter open." Zebari says.

Though Obama claims the US presence is "illegal," he suddenly remembered that Americans troops were in Iraq within the legal framework of a UN mandate. His advice was that, rather than reach an accord with the "weakened Bush administration," Iraq should seek an extension of the UN mandate.

What is she hoping to accomplish? I wonder how many times she will uses the phrase- the people of America... the people of our great nation... I also wonder what Bono and the others think of her and her ultra conservative views and lack of understanding of world views!

Not sure what is has to do with Palin and Bono, but:

"Barack Obama has never urged a delay in negotiations," said Obama campaign national security spokesperson Wendy Morigi, "nor has he urged a delay in immediately beginning a responsible drawdown of our combat brigades."

Obama began the meeting with al-Maliki by asserting that the United States speaks with one foreign policy voice, and that voice belongs to the Bush administration.

Yes yes, Barack Obama, Bill Ayers, Freddie Mac, Hitler and Satan all got together to try to persuade the Iraqi leaders to massacre every first born child in the country. We get it.

Is Ronald Reagan really all that historically notable? It's not like he's on the money or anything, and did he really do THAT much of note during his presidency? I mean, things that had a long lasting effect.

Just saw some of this on BBC news (which by the way is a little more objective). It's like all she did was a bunch of photo ops. Some of the media wanted to boycott this feable attempt to say that she is meeting with world leaders. She was not allowed to answer questions and the media was only given a few moments. So ridiculous!

The republicans wanted a series of photos to trot out: "Here's Sarah with that guy from Iraq! Now she's with the guy from Georgia- The RUSSIAN one! Here she is with BONO!"

Now that will be their new "proof" she's qualified since people laugh now when she says "I can see Russia from my house!"

Sad thing is, too many Americans will only vote the party line even if Hitler reborn were their candidate, or simply will vote for anyone who is not a black man.
