They're holding a rally in Alaska on 9/11, with tickets ranging from $65 to over $200. And they're selling beer.
Also, Republicans are vowing to continue to block health benefits for 9/11 first responders.
Profiteers?
In this sense they're literally profiting from it, but Republicans have been politicaly profiting from it with fear tactics from the last 9 years.

Halliburton owns this thread. Probably literally.
It didn't say,but who exactly gets the money? Are Glen and Sarah donating the profits or are they pocketing the cash? I really am trying to give them the benefit of the doubt even though I think this is a disgusting idea. Obviously,it was cooked up at the last minute. Maybe they saw the people at his MLK Rally and figured,'Why Stop There?'
This should hurt the Republicans, but Jan Brewer in Arizona is way ahead of her opponent and no matter how dumb they are or the dumb things they do,it seems not to matter anymore.

The event is to raise money for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, one of Beck's favorite organizations. It provides scholarships to the families members of military who served as Special Ops. Palin, they are saying, is not getting paid for her appearance.

Fox News host Glenn Beck says he will donate his speaking fee for a pricey rally with former Alaska GOP Gov. Sarah Palin on the anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
Beck and Palin have drawn criticism over the planned rally in Anchorage, Alaska, where tickets cost $65 to $200 for a VIP package that offers a chance to meet the tea party stars.

To me, the best part is that there is a "wet" (Alcoholic beverages will be sold) and a "dry" section.

Palin's original FB posting said nothing about donating money. Also, they did not say they are donating proceeds from the rally. Beck said he is donating speaking fee and Palin said she is not getting paid for introducing him. But what about fees for Meet and Greet (it costs $200 to meet Beck) ? How about merchandise ? I am sure both of them will be selling their books. And how do we know they are not getting percentage of the profit ? With tickets that expensive and alcohol being sold, someone will be making a lot of money.

Yes- I got distracted mid post, but that was to be my point- donating your "Speaking fee" for an event YOU are promoting is VERY different than donating all proceeds from that event.
They're going to make a killing. But it's par for the course for a movement that is funded by some of the wealthiest people in America. The schlubs that attend these rallies are gladly getting hosed.

From the first Politico article:
"Palin declared there is “no better way to commemorate 9/11 than to gather with patriots who will ‘never forget’” at the pricey event."
From a different Think Progress article:
"Event promoter Christopher Cox says the 9/11 date is a coincidence. Cox originally eyed Sept. 4, but didn’t want to compete with the Alaska State Fair."
Like it was a coincidence that Beck's big DC rally was on the anniversary of MLK's "I Have a Dream" speech, I presume.
And people pay attention to this stuff. It amazes and sickens me.

My favorite part is that the crowd will be divided into "Wet" and "Dry" areas- meaning liquor will be available in the "wet" area!

'Wet' is uncomfortably similar to 'moist'. And the thought of Beck making anyone 'moist' is . . . well, it goes a little beyond uncomfortable.

There are not beer goggles strong enough to make me get excited by Glenn Beck.
Maybe they are selling beer goggles as well.
