Remember the once famous child actress from the 1960's thru the early 1980's? She was on so many TV shows and movies that I'm surprised that some people don't mention her often whenever they talk about famous child actors. According to this very recent interview she gave this year: http://www.classicfilmtvcafe.com/2015/08/interview-pamelyn-ferdin.html she is strongly considering an acting comeback after being absent since 1982 due to her new-found animal activism even though I remember hearing her voice in a 1999 Kids WB cartoon called DETENTION which she played the nice girl teacher's pet Shelley Kelley.

She was everywhere in the early 70's. She co-starred opposite Eve Plumb in the famous "Jan wears a black wig" episode of The Brady Bunch and her voice was so recognizable in the animated Charlotte's Web.
She gave a great performance in "The Beguiled".

She was the deaf girl on Lassie who got her hearing restored and Lassie's bark was the first thing she heard as the effects of the operation manifested. Just typing that sentence made my eyes well up.

She was also in the Walt Disney musical, THE ONE AND ONLY, GENUINE, ORIGINAL FAMILY BAND. I also remember her on THE ODD COUPLE as Tony Randall's daughter.

She was also the main lead in the 1974 TV movie adaptation of A TREE GROWS IN BROOKLYN where she actually held up on her own. Pamelyn Ferdin not only gave a stellar vocal performance in CHARLOTTE'S WEB as Fern Arable, but she also has the honor of being, in my opinion, the best voice actress to play Lucy Van Pelt in PEANUTS.
Fun Fact: Anissa Jones, Denise Nickerson, April Winchell, Brooke Shields, and Pamelyn Ferdin all have something in common, they all were young actress considered to play Regan MacNeil in THE EXORCIST before Linda Blair was cast. I think if Linda wasn't there at the time, I think Warner Bros would've gone with Pamelyn in the role and I think she would've been phenomenal in it. Nothing wrong with Linda she was amazing and deserved her Oscar nomination, but I think Pamelyn Ferdin's talent would've given her a run for her money.

Still, noone was going to beat Tatum O'Neal that year.

Here's the episode of THE ODD COUPLE with Pamelyn Ferdin as Felix's daughter in season 2. She has such strong talent and it makes me really happy that she's considering an acting comeback after all these years.

Pamelyn Ferdin was everywhere I looked as a kid, just as you say. Probably the most working child actress around, next to Jodie Foster, or perhaps even including Jodie.
I can imagine one big reason Pamelyn didn't get to play Regan MacNeil, and that's because she was too recognizable at the time. It would have pulled so many people out of the story, whereas Linda Blair had been seen in a few commercials, but was a relative unknown at the time.
Even if Pamelyn didn't get "The Exorcist," she has a memorable resume a mile long, and I for one would love to see her acting again.

Yeah, that Fern in "...Webb" is definitive. I heard her voice whenever I picked up the book. And she sang the charming Sherman Brothers songs (under-appreciated) delightfully.

She looks great! Would love to see her on the big or small screen again ... or on the stage.

My favorite was always Lisa Gerritsen, most famously as Phyllis Lindstrom's daughter Bess.

According to a recent podcast interview seen here: https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=469303289936720&id=404562626410787. Pamelyn Ferdin has said that she would come back to do voice acting again. I could see why she would, she really loved doing voice acting and from Peanuts and Charlotte's Web it shows.
