Gender isn't allowed to be a choice - gender identity issues are still in the mental health diagnosis bible.
Anti-trans
My wife and I are on different sides of this debate, but both close to the middle. I think it's one of those things that she likes to debate to debate. I could give a rat's ass about adults respond to these children, but it is very natural to note the differences in sexes as children. It's one of the first things we learn. If 99 out of 100 children identifies as the gender they are born into, I think it's pretty safe to let people know that they are male or female. If your boy wants to wear pink and butterfly wings, let him. If your daughter wants to cut her hair short and wear boys underwear, let her. This doesn't necessarily mean there will be any gender issues. If there are issues later, deal with them.
Mother of 'Genderless' Baby Storm Speaks Out
I really love how people who put this out there like these parents then turn around and say they hate how people are judging them. It's like an actress who says she can't believe people are reviewing her movie. It makes no sense at all.
So, they disclose the gender of their first two children, but not the third. And they just draw more attention to the child's gender by doing so. It's sort of like saying, "Don't think about cake". Now, you're just going to think about cake. They didn't tell you what sort of cake, so you think about your favorite kinds, but you're thinking about cake, nonetheless.
I am a man. I have a penis. I am gay. I am attracted to men. Men who have penises. My parents referred to me as a "boy" and a "man" and used masculine pronouns when referring to me. AND THAT WAS PERFECTLY FINE. These people just need to man up and stop referring to their own child as an "it". Idiots.
I don't get the huge deal it's making. It's ridiculous, but much like the "pregnant man", it's not the first. There was a young couple who refused to tell anyone their child's gender here in Sweden 2 years ago. The kid was 2 1/2 then.
Again, referring to your child as an "it" is far worse than getting him or her.
