Posted: 4/19/11 at 1:52pmThis is actually an issue I used to run into fairly often. I worked in a children's clothing store through college and the topic was often discussed between the staff and the customers. It was nearly impossible to find appropriate clothing for girls once they reached 8 or 9. Everything was "hoochie cut" and, at the time, our store only went up to size 7 so parents dreaded the day they had to switch over from our clothes to the "young adult" ones.

Posted: 4/19/11 at 2:20pmI have to disagree. As a strict parent to three daughters, now ages 24, 20 and 15, I had no trouble finding appropriate clothes for them as they matured. I made no purchases at Abercrombie, but there are a lot of options out there. Note: my definition of 'appropriate' is neither conservative nor prudish.
