brdlwyr, I saw you at RAvinia. There couldn't have been too may other guys wearing a pink and green striped polo!
I was tastefully adorned in Gallagher Levi red (as always!) and seated next to a man who was so large he took up two seats. (Hey, isn't Yenta looking for a man?)

I was lucky enough to see tonight's show and it was extraordinary. It was the kind of evening of theater that will always remain special. What a night! I can't say enough good things about Patti Lupone's Mama Rose. And Jessica Boevers has totally atoned for In My Life.

Wow.
That's all I can say for now.
Lucky you, who could witness that!

Patti's Rose will live again.
I was discussing Patti's performance with a group of BWW'ers after the show last night. Iflit was remembering what it was like to see young Patti as Evita, and Etoile, I believe, used the phrase "force of nature."
Well, of course, Rose is a force of nature, which is why Bernadette's performance, as charming and sexy as it became later in the run, could never be more than a "version of" Rose.
Iflit said that for most of the evening, we forgot we were watching DivaPattiPlayingLegendaryCharacterRose, and we were watching Rose herself not Patti.
None of the 7 divas I have seen playing this role accomplished that, with the possible exception of Tyne Daly, whose acting was powerful but who couldn't deliver the musical climaxes. Angela was Angela, Betty and Bette and Linda were Betty and Bette and Linda. Bernadette was performing a party trick.
But Patti became Rose.

And the Patti-knife gets stuck in a bit deeper and twisted...
But to all who were able to witness this, it's an event to remember it appears! And hoping that PJ's statement is correct...
Patti's Rose will live again!

I posted my review on the main board thread for anyone interested. I liked it, but did not find it flawless.
