Patti Labelle to join "AHS"

It was announced yesterday that Grammy wining singer Patti Labelle would be joining the new season of "American Horror Story". Being a huge fan, it will be good to see her on the small screen again. According to the article, she will have a four-episode story arc, I guess similar to how they used Patti Lupone last year in "Coven". Should be interesting...

Really wish that Zachary Quinto and Dylan McDermott were coming back also...

Just what this show needed. And Patti LuPone was pointless last year...

She was underused which is not the same thing as pointless.

I wonder if Labelle will be used in a racially dicey plot line?

God, the casting of this show in this season (and the most reason season) is manna from heaven for us.. bachelors. So many great actresses. I wish Ryan Murphy had an ounce of good taste, though. I adore Jessica Lange, but I couldn't even get through the pilot, let alone the first season. Maybe I should give it another shot.

Horse, the second season was, IMHo the best. Sure it was tasteless, gory and over the top, but it all managed to tie together (probably because Murphy was busy with Falchuk and Tim Minear was promoted just for that season as showrunner.)

Namo--I guess you're right, but ultimately her storyline seemed to have no connection tothe greater storyline (whatever it was.)

Tastelessness and over-the-top self-indulgence are the hallmarks of AHS. How you respond to these colors your impression of the show.

However, Coven did not feel like American Horror Story- a self-contained story arc. It felt like the pilot season of a new Ryan Murphy show, "Coven."
