I just told a friend, and he was able to get some tix for Saturday...
Addy, were you there Sat? I was...GREAT SHOW! I'll post a more detailed review later.
I wasn't there on Saturday. I'm going tomorrow! I can't WAIT!
Can't wait to hear your review.
Ahh...I know you'd said you were tempted to try for another show over the weekend.
You'll have an amazing time tomorrow!!! I'll post more, but FYI, I don't think Paul came on until close to 9, so don't be in any hurry to get there around 8. I knew the concert wouldn't start right at 8 (the start time on the ticket) but I was shocked when the pre-concert stuff didn't start until quarter of 9!
Thanks for the 'tip'. Simon & Garfunkel were like that, too.
I would make a comment about the old guys, but...as a card-carrying member of the old-guy crowd, I just can't!
Friends were were at the concert over the weekend and loved it. I think it would be hard not to.
Picking away at this review...Below is the setlist from the tour. I'm pretty sure it's basically the same every night. I dug this up from the Philly show, but from what I remember it was the same set I saw.

Thanks for the set list. Wow, almost all Beatles stuff, if I'm looking right! Thought he did more of his/Wings stuff on the last tour...but I'm certainly not complaining being the Beatles freak that I am.
This is awesome. I have to find a way to go see this.
Ugh, if the cheap tickets were still available for this I'd SO find a way to go...
Here are a few of my non-sensical ramblings copied from the U2 thread:
A few thoughts on McCartney at MSG. First, our seats were great! We were in 313, and we were surprisingly close. I've only sat in 400 level seats at MSG and I was shocked at the huge difference between 300 and 400 seats...We were directly side-stage, and we had a great view of the screens on the side. I think if we'd been much closer it would have been kind of tough to see them.
They started the show w/ a 15 minute video of McCartney's life, ending w/ quick clips from Live8 w/ U2 (wonder if Bono will be there on Wednesday after the Sachs NYU lecture?) The show was great! McCartney had great energy and there were some really beautiful/impressive moments in the staging, Live and Let Die was full of pyro craziness, and there was an incredibly beautiful moment with a curtain of sparks at the back of the stage. I'll have to look and see if I can dig up some pics. The only drawback to that was the excessive smoke for the next couple of songs. *cough*
Overall, I'd say while this set was still great, I much preferred the 2002 set Ellie and I saw. The Beatles selections w/ Hello Goodbye, Getting Better, We Can Work It Out, You Never Give Me Your Money, Fool On The Hill, Something, Here, There, Everywhere, Michelle, Lady Madonna slightly edged out the setlist from Saturday.
Don't get me wrong, it was great, and I'm thrilled I got a bunch of new songs in there, but I liked the first batch a bit better. Highlights this time around: I Will, Blackbird (always a favorite, and it was more special, because I asked my mom in the car into the city if she could hear any Beatles song, what would she want to hear and she said "Blackbird") Helter Skelter (man, Paul's still rockin' out!) I'll Follow the Sun (very funny, because he prefaced it saying "this is a short one" so they kept dragging it out with little "encores" of the last lines "But tomorrow may rain, so I'll follow the sun," like they were done...but wait, there's more! They must have done it 5 times!) Live and Let Die (craziness w/ the pyrotechnics!) the gorgeous wall of sparks in Follow Me, and you just can't go wrong w/ the staples (Maybe I'm Amazed, Yesterday, Hey Jude, and Let it Be)...Low points...the crazy drunk lady behind us that had no rhythm (very funny when she tried to clap along! And she had some choice outbursts) and the new songs. Geez, and I thought Driving Rain was a blase' album. Fine Line wasn't terrible, but Jenny Wren was like Blackbird-uber-lite...and the rest...they were just kind of...there. Definitely not a particularly exciting album, which is sad.
Awww, you can't get away that easily, Addy?!!? How was it? Any different songs? How were your seats? Wasn't the spark wall breathtaking?
Seeing him in November!!
Mabel, my seats were... well... Floor. Section 2. About the 10th row. They were pretty amazing. I am frequently spoiled with access to good seats, but these were unbelievable.
It looks like the set was the same as the one you posted. Thought it was GREAT! He ripped the rock stuff, and sounded beautiful on the ballads.
The lighting and pyrotechnics were excellent, and the candle during "Let It Be" was simply stunning. Very moving!
He had a great rapport with the audience, and the energy in the Garden was electric! I thought he had a fun sense of humor, a lovely touch of nostalgia and just seemed so HAPPY to be there!
It's all swimming around in my head right now, but if anyone in NYC can find a ticket for tomorrow night, my advice is to grab it! I wish I could go again...
<---- Jealous of your fabulous seat!
Indeed, check on TM for some releases tomorrow, people! It's well worth it!
