thanks Q, and yes, it's a 63 pink T-bird...was my dads pride and joy.
Through the windshield you can see the top of the Ford Fairlane convertable he traded in for it.

My mother never was allowed to drive the car, no one could...only my dad

I want that dress your mom is wearing in the photo before the T-bird!

My uncle always had T-Bird convertibles, but not in pink (unfortunately!) He used to get a new one every other year. That was a truly fun car to ride around in.

Yes, MissP, her genes were strong.

And hers are more blue/hazel - but blue, none-the-less.

Here is another one of my mom when she was a little girl. Her eyes were brown, and so were my dad's. Three of their four kids got the Scandinavian genes...blonde hair and blue eyes!

Aww. Thanks, Q. I just hope I can measure up to being one-tenth the person she was.

You can see where my son gets his hair! His is exactly the same texture even though the color is different. They even have the same haircut! I think the shape of the face is the same as his as well.

Oh how I wish my children had gotten to meet my mother.

My mother has been gone for 12 years now, and I miss her every day. We were going through some old family photos and found this one taken shortly after she was married in 1944.

I'm so glad this thread was bumped! Everyone has such beautiful mothers. I really love the vintage photos and I wish I was around in that time.

There's a lot of beautiful women in this thread and a lot of wonderful testimony to the powerful and special nature of the maternal bond.

Just now I'm struck by how beautiful danmag's mother is, and how the the mother-daughter resemblance is so strong.

For years I have been having looking for this picture of my mother, but I haven't been able to find it...until today. I just love it. The expression on her face says everything about who she was. Happy Mother's Day, Mom!
