Haha! Thanks Miss Penny! I've never thought of her as va va voom. She'd be glad to hear it though.

Artsy, My mom was extremely special...and so are you! Actually, you have a lot in common with her: artistic, intelligent, compassionate, articulate, funny, sensitive, creative, kind, loyal and generous. When she walked into a room, she lit it up; she was also quite the master chef! So, you see, you share more than just back-to-back birthdays!

That's my mom, grandmother, Aunt Norma (holding my cousin Keith) and my Great-Aunt Bina, who is holding ME! (You see, Artscallion, my mom was always the focal point...even when she didn't intend to be. Just like you. )

Aw, go on, Miss P. If I weren't black and white, you'd see me blushing. You're right about your Mom though. She's the first face you're drawn to in that picture. Then you can't help but go back to her after you've seen the others.

To the Posters,
I just want to say how much I enjoy this thread. I love black and white photos, I love the vintage fashion, the gorgeous gowns some of your moms wore. This is truly a magical thread and by far my favorite. I just wanted to let everyone know that even at this day an age, you've got an 18 year guy stilling google eyed over your moms.

Yeah, she is a cutie. Even when she drives me to the point of exasperation.

I actually look more like my dad - but you can really tell that I am the spawn of those two.

My younger sister looks like my dad's mom, and my older, looks like someone in my mom's family. I am the mutt1

I found some photos the other night. Here's me and my mom shortly before she gave birth to my younger brother. Doesn't she look great for someone about to have a baby? I'm SURE I didn't look that good right before I had my kids...or EVER!

Looking back through these pictures again is fun. That glamour-pose one of your mom with the daisy earrings, near the top of this page, reminds me of Donna Murphy, MissP.

I so love this thread. I went through the whole thing, too, Artsy. I was just thinking, again, how much you favor your mom.

Thanks for pointing out the high heels. I hadn't even noticed! (And it was outside in the summer!)

I just realized that the B&W photo above was taken at my third birthday party. Here's one from my FIRST birthday. My mom made matching dresses for us!
