It's usually people who think comedic performances are secondary or less worthy than dramatic performances. Even the Academy rarely recognizes them. You can count on one hand (each) the number of actors and actresses who have won Oscars for leading comedic roles. And this movie has two of them.
Next up on my Oscar watch list: Mutiny On the Bounty.
I just realized that Gable starred in back-to-back Best Picture winners, and he was nominated for both (and won for the first one). No wonder he was the "king" in the 1930s.

Roscoe: "The Least Favorite are really the bottom of the barrel. OUT OF AFRICA almost made it, but then I remembered that it at least has a few precious moments of Klaus Maria Brandauer acting Meryl Streep off the f*cking sceen."
I saw Klaus on stage and he absolutely took my breath away (London, he played Albert Speer). I also think he made one of the best James Bond villains (Never Say Never).
