A friend and I are tying to decide whether or not to come to the city to see Patti Lupone in Gypsy. I would like some advice from you on two points.

1. What have you heard about the production? Do you think it will be great?

2. If we buy seats through a site www.newyorkcitytheatre.com, is it safe?

I hope that you do not feel that my questions are foolish, but if you do, please still try to answer them for me.

I know you are not fond of me, but I would trust your answers on these questions, and I would sincerely appreciate your assistance.

Dear HD, I honestly don't think you'd like it. You can tell the show was written by a trio of liberal progressive gays: Rose demands money to realize her dreams and when cash is not forthcoming she steals. She forces her daughter into a life of pornography, which is not surprising since she habitually lies to producers and hotel owners alike and co-habitates with a man who is not her husband.

There are some good things: Her children are home-schooled and she is undeniably patriotic. That's not enough to override the pervasive liberality of the piece.

Sorry, PalJoey, there's nothing we can do. I'm afraid it's....the end.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Hey, romantico, offer some of that to HD. If he wants to see GYPSY, he's going to have to cut down and save up.

I'm curious about the block feature-if you have him blocked, how can he pm you?

You can't block someone's PMs UNTIL they PM you first.

At that point, you can click the "Block PM" feautre at the bottom and voila! They can't PM you anymore.

Oh, I see! All these years on here and I don't know how it works. Do you still have to keep logging out and in each time you bring up the site?

I'm kinda hurt. He sent me the exact same PM and didn't even change a single word. Not even like a "You rock in many ways even though I disagree with you" or anything like that. Now I feel like the foolish dupe in a chain letter.

Anyway, at least bad things aren't going to happen to a relative.

Joey, did you already give away those extra tickets that you had? HDT could sure use them. And while we are on the subject, now that the moocher has moved off your sofa and into a 'safe home' you could probably put HDT and his "friend" (underagedstudenthehopestoseducewhileinthebigcity)up for the weekend, no?

PEACE.

Sueleen, you so crazy.

I have NEVER met Cheyenne Jackson. I have never hung out with him in his dressing room, he did not tweet me, he never bought me a beverage, and he mostly certainly didn't tickle me. . .that is all.

Well Darth has a pair for free over on the main board. But you have to write an essay and leave your life history as collateral though.

Gypsy was created by three Major Homosexuals (not counting actors, designers, et al) AND one Major Non-Gay.

Jule Styne pretty much defined Pussy Hound in the 50s and 60s. I realize that is a crass statement, but it is fairly true.

He'll notice a slight change in elevation during Tulsa's scenes if he sits on your lap.
