I've seen these confession sites before but this one is really fascinating and kinda beautiful. Thanks for the link.

What's the point of the site? I understand the voyeuristic thrill, but what's the payoff for the posters? Ego? Look-at-me, without actually knowing who I am so I can't get caught?

I think the motivation for people sending these is a sense of closure. If you keep something bottled up for so long, it can be freeing to just write it out--even if you can't tell the people who should know the most, at least someone out there can know.
