The republicans are going down in flames....the sniveling has already begun. The show may suck, but, " The times they ARE a changin'"

Hamlet, honestly.
"then you wouldnt fear an increase in the minimum wage because your business would be thriving enough to absorb the hit. If it is THAT precarious that a minimum wage increase will cause you to lay off a worker and suffer greatly in your pocketbook, perhaps you should re-examine how wonderful it is. "
If I'm a small business employing min wage workers, clearly I'm not hand-over-fist making money. And if I am, I'm the one taking the risk. If your value as an employee is worth more, then you'll make more. Have you ever in your life taken a business course? Then you'd know, further, that the arts are business. If you're not producing a product that folks are willing to pay for, you might need to rethink your vocation.

"If your value as an employee is worth more, then you'll make more."
That's a load of crap. Employers will pay you as little as they can and screw you. That's a fact.
When I said " how wonderful it is, " I wasnt referring to your business. I was referring to the economy.
There are plenty of fantastic regional theatre companies throughout this country that put out a stellar product, however their grant monies are gone....cut by you know who!
I LOVE all the class action lawsuits that Walmart is losing now because they tried to screw their employees.

Gee, diva. I feel badly for you and your employment lot.
Nope, not all employers are wealthy bastards out to screw the world.
It's the way of the world. Employers will not willingly gie you a raise for a job well done.
Besides, I work Union, so I'm not complaining about my lot at all.
Too bad all of these comments can not be public. It would insure a republican victory.

I meant in the mainstream media. Then voters would show up on election day to vote against the party of kookism.
In all honesty, regardless of party affiliations, you are the only kook here. In fact, you're a little scary. And probably perpetually single. Perhaps deeply closeted. Yes, deeply closeted. But instead of "protesting too much", you just back the Republicans....it all makes sense now. See ya November 8, Wang Chung.
Was that supposed to be funny?
Wow,that's deranged.
Welcome to kookville.

You nailed it right on the head HWB.
what happened to your attempt to ignore? Just another failed liberal idea? You've been chasing these threads all day. Even you must laughing at yourself by now.
Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha
Happy Pumpkin Day!
Bush and the republicans are gaining.
Thank you Michael J. Fox
The only thing the reublicans are gaining is weight. All those barrels of pork will do that to you, as will dinners with Jack Abramoff.
Bush and Rove are back in the dirver's seat thanks to Kerry.
Dakin, go play in the tub with your rubber ducky and plastic swift boat. AWWW... GOP has stopped funding Curt Weldon....nice concession. 1 senate race down.......awwww Rick Santorum polls widening between him and Bob Casey, Jr......2 senators down.....and the beat goes on......and the best goes on......Scared??? ya should be......
Kerry Swift Boated Himself. Remember President McGovern?

No, most of us aren't as old as you, Chanticleer.
Can you say bad timing...
GOP HOUSE MAJORITY LEADER JOHN BOEHNER: Let's not blame what's happening in Iraq on Rumsfeld.
WOLF BLITZER: But he's in charge of the military.
BOEHNER: But the fact is, the generals on the ground are in charge, and he works closely with them and the president.
well, what do you expect, ywiw? as kerry clearly stated, we've only sent morons over there.
"I do not question their patriotism. I question whether or not they understand how dangerous this world is..."
Which became much more dangerous after the invasion of Iraq. I mean, I know Bush is deluded, but how can he not know he is the most universally hated president in American history?
"The tax cuts we passed have left more than a trillion dollars in the hands of American workers, families, and small businesses, and you have used that money to fuel a strong and growing economy."
Um, my tax refund certainly did not reflect this monstrous relief. Oh, that's right! I'm not already rich, so it doesn't really apply to me. Speaking of fuel, I love how every time this "booming economy" is brought up, there is NO mention of the skyrocketing prices of oil.
"Since August 2003, the American economy has created more than 6.6 million new jobs, including over 1.7 million jobs in the past 12 months alone. Real take-home wages are up by 2.2 percent over the past year, which means an extra $1,300 for the typical family of four with two wage earners."
And mysteriously, the minimum wage is still below the poverty line. You would think a major "boom" would improve that. Well, maybe if you were a rich Republican. But then, you would just ignore that.
"Too bad you couldn't address one point made by the President. But, what could one expect from the party that has no ideas just grievances?"
Hypocrasy at its finest, folks. Dakin is the MODEL for addressing points in the posts of others, isn't he? Clue: the answer is "no".
I have yet to see the effects of this economic "boom". People received a slightly higher to much higher tax refund (for those already wealthy) and a "relief" that allowed families to pay a month or two of electric bills. For those truly in need of wage increases and relief, these miraculous tax cuts did not improve the quality of life for most of the country. Virtually all the money received in tax refunds last year was immediately siphoned into the oil companies so they could drive to work.
After the major recent debacle with Republicans in the Senate, the best they can do to try and deflect the negativity before the election is "Look at what Kerry said!", well, that's desperation at its most desperate. Bush has been saying much stupider things since he was Governor of Texas, so if that's any indication of leadership, then the Republicans are actually fueling the Democratic campaign.
Hey Bush...define "sovereign nation"! LOL
