Posted: 1/19/05 at 5:58pmTension is in the air, Beav. By rights, Austin is on the hot seat, but I think everyone is on the line. I would wager that it's one of the guys who gets cut tonight...

Posted: 1/19/05 at 6:18pmYeah, I really enjoy hating Wendy every week; I would miss that. I want boring Kevin to go.

Which would be odd; the previews are edited to make tonight look like a pretty high-drama evening.
*palpitations*

Posted: 1/19/05 at 9:58pmI wish Jay would leave. He annoys me so. I can't believe who got kicked off tonight!!! Not giving anything away, but she was one of my favorites.

Posted: 1/19/05 at 10:04pmI know! I can't believe she got kicked off either. I thought for sure that the guy who was left in the final two would be kicked *no names for now* I didn't like his swimsuit...if you consider it that

Wow. So there goes my second-guessing the producers' input; I'm so surprised.
Mostly pretty weak designs tonight, but the time restraint was crazy. Really surprised how much I liked Wendy's suit; could the b**ch queen actually have some talent??

I'm just going to say names, if you haven't seen it, you shouldn't read this thread.
I thought they made the right choice. Alexandra has not made one really interesting or unique piece, and its hard to sell new designs that aren't really new. I thought Kevin's and Wendy's were pretty weak too, but I liked Kevins better than Wendys because it actually had a butt-piece. Kevin is a little boring, but he's kind of adorable in a weird way.
I was glad Austin won, his suit was very pretty and wearable. I didn't really care for Jay's that much, but considering everything else on the runway, it was good.

Posted: 1/19/05 at 10:16pmI liked Wendy's swimsuit too. Maybe it was the color that caught my attention, either way I would probably wear it. I'm glad that they kept Austin, I have a strong feeling they will keep him until the end because he's the one that brings the most drama and he makes great tv.

I LOVED Austin's bathing suit... so glad he won. I have a feeling he's going to do extremely well on this show, since he seems to be getting the most press (do a Google search... plus, there was a picture of him, Nora and Heidi Klum shmoozing in today's Daily News). And he picked the best model for the challenge, didn't he? Melissa was ALL OVER that Page Six guy... she's a great self-promoter. But jeez, 16? Super jailbait.
Wendy needs to go... I have a feeling the only reason she's being kept on the show is because of the love-to-hate-her factor. Face it, she's the villain. I love Jay, but that bathing suit was atrocious. Imagine the weird tan lines you'd get in a thing like that. Alexandra's swimsuit was boring and unoriginal... just like her. I totally expected her to go tonight.

Isn't that true of Austin's suit too? Without the gauze and tulle, his was just a one-piece suit.
And don't you love their bare-knuckles attacks on each other? "Her designs usually end up being just a mess". Love it!

and Boring Kevin goes down!
Tonight felt really scripted--they totally set Wendy up to be the B**ch and generate a little drama; that's the only way to explain why she's still around; her design was snasty.

And Morgan is also gone.
The judges talk highly of Austin, so I think him or Kara will win. Wendy will go down next week, and Jay will stay in for the drama factor. If Austin doesn't win, he'll melt into his costume like the Wicked Witch on the Wizard of Oz!

Posted: 1/27/05 at 9:24amI think Jay will stay for talent as much as drama; I think Rob goes next, then Wendy (keep W. for drama) and then the runway shows, which Kara will win.

Posted: 1/27/05 at 12:08pmanyone else wonder why rob is still there? he's not that great of a designer, but he knows how to talk his way out of any question. he definitely won't make it to the top three...which i think will be Austin, Jay, and Kara

One of the things I love about this show is how it takes me back to design school and our weekly critiques. Presentation is SO important; a really great design can be seriously undermined with a bad presentation--eyes on the ground, mumbling, weak/passive delivery. And a weak design can be camouflaged by a smooth talker.
We saw last night--again--how smart Kara is; during the discussions, she knew that it didn't matter that there was no cohesive idea to the "collection" it just had to be sold--and Kevin couldn't sell food to a starving man.
Rob is smooth, comfortable, and he knows how to present an idea so that it sounds convincing.
Unfortunately for Rob, he's out of design dead-wood; his days are numbered.

Posted: 1/27/05 at 2:23pmOk, so I am a little behind. Was that overtly feminine guy kicked off yet?

Posted: 1/27/05 at 5:52pmKara Saun NEEDS to win. She has shined with all her creations. I really liked her "envy" dress.
#72Austin Scarlett--enough already

It's Kara's to lose--she's too smart and too talented. They all dumped big piles of crap on the runway last night, but Kara's still had a lot of style--the silhouette was fab and it moved beautifully.
I'm pretty well over Austin, too. He's a nasty little queen, and he's had the nerve to give interviews saying that he "wishes everyone wouldn't 'assume' that he's gay--he's dated women".
Sister girl, take off the tulle shawl, the eyeshadow, the bracelets, the lip gloss, the eye-liner, the satin sash, the capri pants and the capezio flats and THEN come tell me about your exploits with women. I mean, I don't like to be all about labels, but if AUSTIN SCARLETT won't be out loud and proud, then I just want to get off the ride.....

I agree about Austin just everything he wears to the runway show. Ugh. Well I'm actually kind of glad Kevin got off because he was really starting to annoy me. Jay will be there for the drama and so will Wendy.
I agree though I love Kara's designs. I think last nights challenge was a bit odd, but I still liked her design out of all of them. I hope she wins.

The three most talented people are Kara, Austin and Jay. I personally don't like Jay, but I will admit that his designs are pretty good. Plus he hads a big element of drama to the show. Kara is hands down the most talented one out of all of them, and I will be extremly pissed if she doesnt win.
Wendy needs to go. The only week she did well was for Banana Republic.
