Loved the challenge idea, very smart.
Overall, I think Christian's win was well deserved, but I would have liked to see Jillian win as well.
I did not like Sweet Pea's outfit at all. It looked so cheap to me.
Rami's design was predictable, and I think he should have been kicked off. It was fine, but we've seen it so many times! Yes, Chris' design looked very similar to an earlier design, he's showed far more range than Rami has.
Can't wait for the reunion!
*Massive spoilers in this post if you haven't watched tonight's episode*
Tonight was totally fierce. Christian and Jillian were clearly head and shoulders above the rest on this challenge, but he definitely deserved the win. I love how you can clearly see hints at their final collections in the work they did tonight. (Jillian with the gold dress and coats with cutouts, Christian with... well, EVERYTHING.)
I'm sad for Sweet P, a little, but she did clearly deserve to go. Her dress was cute, but forgettable and nowhere near ambitious enough for the FINAL CHALLENGE. And did it really take her two full days to make one little dress? Eek. I'm happy she at least got to show a decoy collection with some very sophisticated pieces.
Re: the whole Rami/Chris situation... I understand them, but it's absolutely a cop-out. Yes, both of their pieces were derivative if you look at their past work, but Chris's was obviously better. Rami making yet another little draped dress was inexcusable, while Chris referencing a large shoulderpiece he made once was only really an issue because of the size and drama. Christian always makes puffy sleeves and Jillian always makes futuristic coats with stiff collars, and they never get dinged on it. It was clearly an attempt to give Rami one more chance because he's a judges' pet.
SO excited for the reunion. Yay more Jack Mackenroth in my TV!

I think that's the first time I hated what Jillian designed! She's great overall, though.
I agree, Blue.
I just saw the spolier pictures, and I actually liked them all.
Victoria's a bit uptight no?
AHH Heidi so good.
Can't wait for next week.
actually, I liked Jillian's outfit this week.
I think Rami should have been out and Chris in, but let's see what happens.

I actually thought Rami's was the best. Don't understand the obsession with knocking someone for doing something impeccably. Heidi and team knocked Laura for the same thing, but who does Heidi wear from that season? she doesn't wear Jeffrey's clothes. She wears Laura's. I can understand fashion as art, but if the designer can't make wearable clothes, he/she isn't going to make money. Christian has shown he can't make wearable clothing for the everyday woman.
As for the decision, I think it's the right one and not a cop out unlike last year where they clearly did it to keep Jeffrey in.
You have to love Heidi though. She tells it like she sees it.

cmleidi, I had no idea that Heidi was wearing Laura's designs this season. I did notice she was dressing much better though.
I liked all the designs this week and am sorry Sweet Pea had to go. I loved the color of Rami's dress.
Most of all, I liked this season the best because for the most part, the good designers made it week after week and there was no "drama" so to speak. I've said it before, but it was very refreshing to see a group of people who genuinely liked each other (or at least on camera).
I noticed that once again, Sweet turned to someone else for ideas (Jillian) and Jillian told her that at this point in the game, she should do what SHE thinks is right. I had to agree with Jillian there.
I liked Sweet Pea, liked her designs too, but I don't know if she still would have been in the running if not for the last two challenges when Tim had her change her designs.
Wahhhhhhhhhhhh....I love Sweet P! But, I totally expected it. I thought her dress was lovely, just not awe-worthy.
I have to say, as tired as the judges are about Rami's draping...I'm tired of Jillian's coats.
But all in all, no surprises. I think Christian will win the whole thing, which is fine cause he's a fantastic designer, but I still say he's an annoying a-hole.
They didnt have a problem with Rami creating something impeccably, it was that he has done the same freakin' outfit over and over again. He's shown the least range...he may be cuter than cute, but he's bored me...and the judges agree.
It was the last challenge...and he should've shown some versatility and balls by NOT choosing the grecian/roman room, and he knew it.
I like Sweet Pea but that dress was not that good. I was expecting it to at least hit the floor on one side to give the peacock feather effect. And it may have worked with that fabric. Rami's dress was nice. Just about everything he does is nice but I can see where the judges are coming from with him. And his is stubborn about it. He always says it is what he does best. But can he do anything else? I expect that when they come back before going to Fashion week for the "judge-off", he will have the same style clothing and they won't let him move on because he didn't do something different. I guess we will see in a few weeks! We have the reunion and then I figure the show where Tim travels to see how their collections are going before the final show.
But Rami's "passionate" about draping! Sigh. The judges told him multiple times that they wanted to see something different, and he didn't listen to them. It's not that he doesn't create nice clothing, it's that he's bullheadedly refusing to do anything in a different style, making the judges wonder if he has the range.
Apparently none of the judges have ever been to or heard of a Renaissance Faire (as amusing as the idea of Michael Kors eating a giant turkey leg and oogling all the tights is), because Christian's outfit probably could have fit in at one.

My problem with calling out Rami is they should have called out Jillian and Christian for making the same outfits they've made before. If Rami's dress was predictable, Christian and jillian's work was just as predictable. When Christian is unable to make tight pants with an oversized jacket, he submits crap like the prom dress or the every day version of the couture dress. Why didn't Nina say, "We need to see something else. We are so bored with this look." I know I'm bored with Christian's clothing, and did anyone think he was not going to make tight pants with an oversized jacket? He has yet to be criticised (as Rami has) for submitting the sixth version of the same look. Is it because Christian is television friendly?
Like AMNTM, it seems like the people who don't win are more successful than those that do.
and his final collection is full of the same thing.
Just as long as Rami is shirtless when and if he gets his butt kicked to the curb.

Chris' gown was stunning (Cavalli liked it best of all the designs!) the only reason he got dinged was that that shoulder puff was a bit of a rerun (and it honestly was, so I can't blame the judges for calling him out on that).
Jillian's was cool. She does do coats a lot, but they are impeccable and gorgeous. Everything she puts out is fashionable AND well-made.
Rami's stuff is well-made, but hoestly, enough with the Grecian Goddess look. Plus, last night/.s purple number, while well-made, looks (to quote the Great Orange One) a little "mothyer of the bride." I think a lot of Rami's stuff is too "old" for the models.
Christian - I do like most of his stuff, but last night I think Chris was the clear winner.
It was time for Sweet P to go. I like her a lot (and some of her dresses I would totally buy and wear), but she seems a little overwhelmed by it all, she is not as "high fashion" as the others, and last night's dress was a big letdown.

The thought of any mother of the bride showing that much shoulder and boob is TERRIFYING.
I have to say, I think seeing the looks go down the runway makes it clearer why Christian won last night. That picture is atrocious (the top layer is all crumpled up), and the way the outfit moved was integral to the whole concept.
As much as I don't like Christian's personality, he's definitely a great - and fast, and detailed - designer. And I just love Jillian and how she always comes together at the last minute.
Rami should have been out. The dress was fine, but had no "wow" factor. And what does it say about the guest designer when he chose Chris as his favorite, yet he was still not definitely in.
and Chris completely finished it in 1/2 day and didn't waiver on his design.
I have to agree that Rami needed to go last night...and I also agree that if Chris had made Christian's outfit, they would have called it a costume, I was thinking that while they were praising him last night.
Does anyone have a link to photos of their final collections?
I'm looking at the website, and it says that Victorya Hong showed! What's up with that?
Anyway, the link is for Project Runway, but they don't list the names. I can't tell who made what.
Project Runway
I can't figure out why Victorya showed at Fashion Week. Originally I thought it was to keep the final 3 secret, but it's not so secret that the five of them showed, although only 3 will be shown to the television audience.
