I refuse to see the Halloween re-make. The original was a classic partially because of how much Carpenter could convey without the use of blood.

I will probably end up seeing it, but I have low expectations.

At least they're remaking movies that actually need improving (I'm looking at you, Rob Zombie...).

I'd very much like to see new versions of "Terror Train" and "Pumpkinhead".

haha I spoke too soon! thanks broadway86
I had no idea they had already remade it, and I think there is a reason. It most likely sucks even more than the first one, but I will rent it anyway. Hell, I'm gonna buy it! I can't help it. It's corny and I love it.

Oh, and I just found out that Eli Roth will be remaking The Bad Seed! They couldnt have picked anyone better to do it. I just hope he doesn't ruin it...

that April Fool's Day went straight to dvd and came out just a week ago. it's on my list.

And Pumpkinhead part 4 just came out (also straight to dvd) about 2 months ago. And it stars Lance (the man!) Henrikson!

FYI - today Day Of The Dead remake comes out and next week, Inside comes out.

Inside is a mean and violent little flick that has gotten much acclaim on the indie circuit.

taz, where have you been all my life.

I just pre-ordered Inside and I ordered Art of the Devil II last week. Is the third one not out yet? It won't let me order it.

I don't see this even having camp value. Can you say "bottom of the barrel"? Now even our guilty pleasures are getting boring...

Oh, and I just found out that Eli Roth will be remaking The Bad Seed! They couldnt have picked anyone better to do it.

I hope he doesn't drop the Cell project. I really wanted to see that. Not a fan of his screenwriting, but I think he's a wonderful horror director.

Eli's a hack.

Eli needs to come out of the closet.

"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I agree with Liv.

He turned into a total douche after Hostel 2 tanked.
I really thought he had promise when I saw Cabin Fever, but he has let me down.
I enjoyed both Hostel's for what they were, but really, he can do much much better.

Really, Taz?

Cabin Fever had nothing going for it. Awful dialogue, annoying characters, cliched plot. It's one of the worst movies I have ever seen.

The makeup was okay, but a few of the scenes were disgusting.

I thought it was clever and humorous. Not a classic by any means, but for a low budget first film it defeintely indicated a director to watch.
I think the disgusting scenes were kinda the point.

That film reminded me of early Joe Dante.

taz-
Did you see they are making a sequel to Cabin Fever? Somehow, Rider Strong is in it, playing Paul again...

yea, I did see that. I think it's gonna be one of those really bad straight to video deals.

Which of course means I'll watch it.

Plus, I adore Rider. Even if his name is funnier that Mike Hunt.

A remake of THE BAD SEED? Lord, why?

Eli Roth has talent as a filmmaker, but he needs to brush up his writing. HOSTEL 2 actually came close, except for the stupid ending and that horrible scene with Heather Matarazzo which was neither scary nor entertaining, just unpleasant. Optimistic about CELL.

I'm reading one report that says Eli isn't working on Cabin Fever 2.

IMDB doesn't have the (V) beside the name, so it looks like it'll be shown in theaters.

I actually liked Cabin Fever and thought it was well-made and extremely funny, and I loved both Hostel movies.

What the hell is Eli Roth doing working on a comedy? This article is a little dated, so I hope he has come to his senses and for the sake of all his fans, abandoned this awful idea. Cabin Fever was funny, but it wasn't THAT funny. He needs to realize his potential and step it up.

The Bad Seed is one of my favorite movies and I just hope it isn't ruined, that is all.

I loved the Hostel movies, too. Far more inventive, stylish, and oddly believable than your average horror movie.
