A 49-year-old man was in a medically induced coma yesterday, three days after a vicious gay-bash attack by two men near his Queens home, police said.
Daniel Aleman, 26, who was arrested Sunday, and a man identified yesterday by cops as Daniel Rodriguez, 21, taunted Jack Price with anti-gay slurs while he was in the College Point store early Friday.
They waited until Price left the store before allegedly jumping him, authorities charged. Price suffered a fractured jaw and ribs, and a lacerated spleen.

Some of the comments below it are appalling, too. I know it's the Post, but the ones on the Times blog are not much better. I'll spare you the Freeper reaction.
Are so many people really so filled with hatred that they can't even muster up sympathy for a man in a coma?

Posted: 10/14/09 at 10:16amI must say that I especially love how this Post article puts the term "gay bashing" in quotes...as if plying this poor man with anti-gay slurs while beating him half to death somehow puts the status up for debate. This is absolutely horrific. It proves once again that, sadly, even in a supposedly tolerant city like New York, you are never truly safe from this kind of attack.

There is something about the savage nature of the beating that makes me think the two assailants where having a bit on the down low a little earlier in the evening and had to work off the guilt.
They will go down, big time, specially when that footage is shown in court. There is no way in Hell it was self defense and I don't buy that "Gay Panic" defense either.

I have the same reaction to that guy's tattoo that I have to the Westboro Church folks: Your ENTIRE life revolves around what 10 percent of the population does in bed?
