question re: acting my age#50

Posted: 1/21/08 at 1:08pm

no Jane, I have seen it all too often.....you say you appreciate differing opinions, yet you try to make the other opinion wrong, or want someone to prove it....sorry but people do not have to prove anything to you.
They are entitled to their opinion without having to answer to Jane for it.

"I don't agree that tourists must try not to get in anyone's way, and I'd like to know what they do that's so disagreeable. How confusing is that?"

oh please.....many here are not stupid enough to buy that.....sorry, go ahead and say it over and over to try to convince yourself.

Anyone looking a previous threads of yours will see this pattern, almost as if you are baiting people, and frankly I'm over it......so, I am just offering my opinion my Dear, and you'll just have to accept it, cause I do not answer to you!

"Yes, exactly-I'd like to know what it is that I'm not aware of. Perhaps I'd adjust my opinion."

right, and hippos will grow wings.......please I ain't buying what you're selling......

aww, thank you Papa

Jane, I did NOT post that......I have been PMing you......either I screwed-up and thought I was PMing you, or someone (the un-named moderator) did that, which frankly I didn't even think was possible......but I DID stop, except for this post, when I said I did

I've never understood people who say you shouldn't look up in NYC, as it will brand you a tourist. Some of the most incredible large scale architecture in the world is there, and if you don't look up you miss it! I make a point of looking up - while being aware of my surroundings, of course.

ok, I did doublecheck, and I screwed-up. I meant to PM you Jane, and I was going back and forth between the board and PM's......and I am sorry for that.

Well, I love Jane2. I was a proud tourist in November and Jane2 was a very helpful New Yorker. Frankly, I don't get the Jane bashing here. If you meet her in person, you would certainly be dumbfounded by all of this. I guess I'm an obnoxious tourist who looks up and talks to all kinds of strangers. I met wonderful strangers in November. The most interesting was a competitive ballroom dance couple from Argentina. I even looked up their videos on youtube. They did a whole thing on the purse floor thing on Oprah recently. They showed a germaphobe who had no problem setting her purse on the floor. So Oprah's team took the purse to the lab and it was full of e-coli bacteria! Anyway, stop reading so much into Jane because she is adorable! There, I said it! mom

Well, to even things out, I hate Jane2.

I have a problem with fat hideous miserable people who come onto message boards and make an effort to tear down fat happy successful people just because they're not at the same level.

Lovely, and very mature.

Don't make up stories, tatela. Now go back and read all my posts and provide evidence that I ever did that. Let's just see one example. Go now and get busy.

Because you do not accept messages, I have to ask you in public. Did you ever think of looking into why you're so unhappy? At such a young age, it's a shame.

As a general note-It's interesting to see just who has their pm features turned off.

It was in a Clay Aiken thread, which has been deleted, along with most every other Clay Aiken thread.

I think a good rule for anyone visiting New York is....

...act your age, not your shoesize.

I think that sums it up.

BTW, If someone veers towards you while you are taking pictures in the middle of 42nd street and knocks the camera out of your hands? That'll be me.

I'll help you out here, also, Wannabe because you are incorrect.,

The thread was talking about how Clay Aiken gained weight, and several people were opining about it. I posted this , but not in caps, as I'm about to-"I LIKE THE WAY HE LOOKED BETTER WHEN HE WAS THINNER." That's verbatim.

Wannabe came back with the comment that I was only saying that because I was going along with what society thinks about heavy people. He wasn't the only one who started accusing me of that. I then found myself trying to convince them that no, I simply preferred the way he looked then. What a waste of time.

Now, there was another thread about the reviews of Clay Aiken on the main board, which is now deleted. The topic of Seiber's weight gain came up, and one of the posters said that "He liked him better thinner, he was hot."" Where was Wannabe when that statement was made?

Now, you should be more fair in your hatred, Wannabe.

Now that I see my post, I didn't quote myself verbatim, but you get the drift.

Thanks again mom. I'm pretty sure that if you meet most of the people here, they would surprise you with how nice they are. There's something about the anonymity of posting on a message board that brings out the worst in some people.
