Question regarding possible NYC transit strike this weekend
#0Question regarding possible NYC transit strike this weekend

I am planning to come into the city by train on Saturday to see a matinee. I've just read that there may be a transit strike (subways, busses) at midnight tomorrow. My question, if this happens, what are my chances of getting a cab to and from the theatre district/Times Square area? Seriously, no joking around (Walking that far is out of the question for me). Should I go in or stay home?
Thank you.

You *just* read about it? Honey, where have you been? The city has been having agita over this crap for DAYS!
I'd stay home. It's probably not going to be worth it...the city is going to be bedlam.

Posted: 12/15/05 at 4:43pmI would be prepared to walk. My boss keeps imagining I can just find a cab (or town car) to work. HELLO?!?! Logistics!?!? 7 MILLION people will be without transportation. Good luck finding anything but your own two feet.

No, it will only affect city subways and buses.

Posted: 12/15/05 at 5:33pmThe Lincoln Center Loewes is about 20 blocks north, and maybe 5 crosstown blocks. It's definitely a HIKE- esp. if it's cold.

Posted: 12/15/05 at 5:34pmI know, and why the heck isn't it playing in Philly? I mean, I know it'll probably be March before it plays in South Jersey, but I expected more out of Philly.

I love the Ritz 16. So comfy, and good coffee and desserts.
Plus it's cheaper than movies in NYC which are now up to $10.50.
