Jeffrey Dean Morgan is the only name I recognize associated with this.
They need to set it in the Middle East when all of a sudden, under the shadiest of circumstances, American troops swoop in and start taking charge leading all the young people to take up arms and start an exciting rebellion!

I made the mistake of seeing the original, which I absolutely despised, in Wyoming while on vacation. I reviewed movies at the time and let's just say that the audience conformed to every yahoo sterotype and then some.
