Frankly, he could have stopped with 'SCTV' and he would have earned his place in my personal comedy pantheon. The movies are all gravy--and some of them are very funny gravy.

Plus--I always loved that hair!

I didn't know he directed Groundhog Day. Loved Ghostbusters. Very sad.

I remember bumping into him, Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd in the elevator of Columbia's 5th Avenue offices around the time GHOSTBUSTERS was about to be released. They were obviously doing promotion for the film as all three were in their Ghostbusters gear.

Bill Murray turned to me and asked my name and I answered, "Carlos" and he replied, "as in "the jackal?". Ramis and Aykroyd told me to ignore him...lol.

Influenced the current generation of comedy writers and directors making movies today more than anyone realizes. Such sad news. RIP Harold.

CADDYSHACK...STRIPES...GHOSTBUSTERS...VACATION...the underrated, forgotten STUART SAVES HIS FAMILY...like the viewscape of my adolescence and early adulthood.

I heard about this yesterday. It was sad news indeed. I've seen 'Ghostbusters' so many times and he was hilarious. R.I.P.
