So sorry to hear this.
What a classy, sexy guy. And so incredibly talented, going all the back to his golden MGM days. Starring with Esther Williams and the gang.
He was the first to sing the Oscar-winning Frank Loesser song, "Baby, It's Cold Outside" with Esther in Neptune's Daughter.
And I loved all his wonderful insight in the documentary "MGM: When the Lion Roars," which is due out later this month on DVD.

Awww, I know he's been out of the spotlight for years, it was nice knowing he was still alive. I remember Fantasy Island so well, and of course I remember him as Khan--so sexy even at that age.

Jane, I was thinking about the Corinthian leather as well. What was that commercial for? The Monte Carlo?

Here's the original recording of Ricardo and Esther doing "Baby, It's Cold Outside" from Neptune's Daughter.
Such talent!

Another site I used to belong to (until I decided they were all snarky biotches) had that link last winter permanently located at the top of the board. It was great.

All I could think about when I read the title of this thread was 'rich corinthian letter'. I'm happy to know I am not alone.
Edit: This bit comes from the LA Times obit.
"As Khan, Montalban was deliciously over the top, vowing to wreak revenge on Star Trek Admiral James T. Kirk: "I'll chase him 'round the moons of Nivea, and 'round the Antares maelstrom, and 'round perdition's flames before I give him up."
It freaked me out because that's a slightly altered version of an Ahab quote from Moby-Dick, which I'm teaching my juniors and just quoted today.

Right now on TCM, the last installment of When The Lion Roars is on.
I saw a little yesterday with a part that had him on it. I also remember him from the first Naked Gun movie
The plane boss the plane. Another solid actor has passed on.

I remember him as the mysterious Mr Roarke, and also as the evil Capitan Estivan (I think that's the name) in a remake of The Mark of Zorro, which starred Frank Langella as Zorro. An outstanding sword fight.

"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter
