I've never seen her on stage. However, everytime I see her in BWW phoos, it seems as though she has that "deer in the headlights" look in he eyes. It's in every single photo. Is there a reason for this?

Rachel Dratch was in the LA cast of Minsky's. I've, also, noticed her appearance it, seemingly, every Broadway event since Minsky's closed. I'm guessing that she's trying to make herself known in the Broadway community and meet other performers before making her debut when Minsky's opens on Broadway.

The point I was trying to make is that in every photo she has a wide-eyed expression. It's eerie.

Oooh, that. I think that's just the way she looks. I never seen her look anything but wide-eyed. It's become kind of her "signature".

She only seems to have that look when she's being photographed. On television, she's not like that. But she does like to go to a LOT of Broadway events.

I'm still not sure what to make of this Out Magazine thing of hers. It's not that it's offensive, but more that it seems like all of her gay friends are in the 70s. Not their 70s, the 70s.

Wanna know what your gay pals really think, Rachel? BroadwayWorld Bannee JoeKv99 breaks it down.

1) When you order an extra entree "for the table" you aren't fooling anyone.

2) Everyone suspects you're still a virgin. It's OK.

3) Dressing your dog in little baby booties and calling him your son isn't "camp" it's just sad.

4) Mustaches have been out on guys for twenty five years....and they NEVER were in for women.

5) Sometimes we?re a little embarrassed to have you around.

6) When we do karaoke with my friends, you cannot sing. Sorry.

7) Do you remember that sweater you gave me for Christmas? The dry cleaner didn't ruin it.

8 No. You will never get married.

9) Three cats are really much more than enough. Really.

10) The Blue one. But really, neither of them do you any favors. Besides, no guy is going to be looking at you anyway.

You're right about those stereotypical jokes being hoary Phyl.

I mean, Sudenly Seymour? And was that a reference to the Rambles?

I have noticed that too. Didn't some of her SNL characters do that?

By biggest "problem" (I guess) with her appearance is that she always looks like sh*t from basically the neck up! It's usually the hair! Can't she comb it?!?! Or straighten it or do SOMETHING to it??????

She reminds me of a younger Barbra Bryne. I think that every time I watch the INTO THE WOODS DVD.

I thought she was a lesbian. Rath told me she was. Rath hath lied to me!

Yeah, she needs a stylist and a makeup person, stat. And a top lip. She does have big eyes. Why not play them up? Wear some damn mascara.

Rachel Dratch's "Greatest Hits" special should consist solely of this sketch.

Rachel Dratch is one of the funniest people on the planet. Period. I find this whole thread rather looksist.
If you want to talk about celebrities who only have one look, Dollypop, may I remind you that your beloved Ms. Channing has been doing the same look since 1940. And "she needs to get a top lip", Jersey Girl? REAALLYY?
And if Rath said she is a lesbian she must be. Rath knows all.

PEACE.

I was beginning to wonder of Rachel Dratch had a medical problem that caused her extreme Bette Davis stare. I'm not familiar with her as an actress, having given up on Saturday Night Live many moons ago. I based my inquiry solely on the photos of her that are posted here at BWW.

Yeah, that was pretty mean, wasn't it? It was late. lol I just think she would look better if she played with what she has. I love Rachel, but when you're going to be doing red carpets and stuff I think you should put forth a little effort, I guess.

She just has big, Bette Davis eyes.

And she was a hoot in Minsky's.

Face it, most Broadway actors could use a "groomer" for their red carpet appearances, but it doesn't diminish their talent. I find it refreshing to see people who aren't really that superficial to be concerned whether they pass the "Dollypop Pretty Test".

Totally right on, Phyl! Make a pitcher of Tequila Sunrises and we'll give her a Farrah 'do and long sparkly eyelashes!
