I wish Rache had brought just a titch of this to her interview with Mike Huckabee. Again, I go back to the heartbreak of electoral politics for those who engage in the homosex. I feel bad when I see people get their hopes up, because their hearts inevitably get broken.
And another thing to add to the heartbreak is the illusion referred to by the Mother Jones guy in the clip as "the big part" that queer people played in the election of Obama. We aren't nearly as numerous in the population, nor as powerful, as Larry Kramer and others always erroneously repeat.

Would folks feel the same if a Catholic priest had been invited to give the invocation? Are Warren's positions on issues like homosexuality, gay marriage or abortion any worse than the Catholic church's? Should we be critical of Joe Biden for remaining a Catholic while his church holds such hateful positions? Should Biden renounce his faith?

Rachel makes some good points. Obama seems to be a little blase when it comes to preachers, doesn't he? Part of me hopes that Rick Warren just starts spouting crazy **** between now and the inauguration and Obama has to rescind the invitation. Come tell us about Syria some more, Mr. Warren. Religious people are so weird.

"Obama has to rescind the election"

Perhaps I'm not reading her blog correctly, my mind sort of wandered when she started in about baseball caps and misspelled yarmulke, but it appears to me that the Mrs. Ms Etheridge didn't read the fine print on the Saddleback website.
"honey and i are to go to his church sometime soon"

Posted: 12/22/08 at 1:04amI got all thrown off by the "honey" crap, but looking at Warren I assume we're supposed to take literally the part that he tried to eat a human being when he hugged her? Also, is saddleback the new code word for protected f***ing?

I am pleased that she's discovered, and patiently explained for us, this new concept where things are separate-ish, yet still somehow equal-like.
I bet Warren is smirking as he "mistakenly" posts a link on Saddleback's website to Tammy's blog from yesterday which ends, "in spirit of the season: here's a tongue-kiss for anyone who wants one.

Um, somebody is on crack, deluded or just flat out lying.
How can she write
"and then my wife meets the man behind the projections, the quotes, the "OTHER SIDE". and he is warm, caring, effusive, and LOVES gays. since he nearly swallowed honey when he hugged her, i tend to believe him. he wants our gay marriages to be just as respected and embraced as the straight marriages. he just wants to wear his yamaka, and me wear my hat,"
when just four days earlier Warrren was quoted as saying,
"I now see you asked about civil UNIONS -and I responded by talking about civil RIGHTS. Sorry. They are two different issues. No American should ever be discriminated against because of their beliefs. Period. But a civil union is not a civil right. Nowhere in the constitution can you find the "right" to claim that any loving relationship identical to marriage. It's just not there."?
If anyone is visiting Uncle Tammy's Cabin, could they ask her for clarification?
